Chapter 2 - Family

Harry's POV

"You....you have a fucking kid!?" I quickly covered Darcy's ears before she heard what he had to say with my one arm. I glared at Louis.

"Can you not?" I asked. He just looked shocked. "Darcy, can you please go to play in your room for a little while?"

"Why?" I sighed.

"Daddy needs to talk to this man okay? If you need me I'll be right in here". She nodded and I kissed her forehead, letting her down and watched her run down the hallway. I stepped aside and opened the door more so Louis could step in.

"Nice place you've got here". He said as he observed the place.

"What do you want Lou?" I asked. He just looked at me questioningly.

"Where have you been? I haven't heard from you in a year. A YEAR!"

"I'm sorry Lou".

"Your mum and sister are worried sick. They said they've been trying to contact you, but you just don't answer the phone". I sighed.

"I don't have time to".

"Why? What could possibly be keeping you so preoccupied that you can't answer the damn phone!?"

"I have work! And when I'm not at work, I'm here with Darcy. Niall has work too. If I'm at work, he's here. And whenever were both home, were fucking fighting! Okay! That is what is keeping me so preoccupied at the moment!" I half yelled. Louis looked at me shocked, then sympathy taking over his expression. I sat down on the couch, clenching my hair through my fingers.

"Haz..I....I'm sorry". I felt weight next to me. Louis put his hand on my shoulder and I sighed.

"I don't know what to do. He won't talk to me". I looked up to meet his eyes. "He's closed himself up completely. He doesn't tell me anything".

"I-is daddy okay?" I looked over to the hallway to see Darcy watching me.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Go back and play".

"Okay". She ran happily back to her room.

"She's a beautiful little girl. Seems really-"

"Smart. Yeah".

"Where is Niall anyway?"

"Work". Louis nodded.

"What does he do?"

"He works at a music store. Sells CDs and instruments and stuff".

"And you?"

"I'm stocking shelves at a supermarket". I sighed.

"At least you have a job! Zayn and I are trying to save for a flat but we're getting no where".

"Still together?" I asked. He smiled and nodded.

"So, I'm still waiting for an explanation on your face, it looks pretty fresh".

"Jake's back". Louis frowned at me.

"What do you mean he's back?"

"He's back Lou. He's trying to take Niall".

"Still doesn't explain your face.."

"I opened the door earlier and he barged in and just started hitting me".

"Shit! Was Darcy okay?"

"Yeah. She was in the kitchen crying". I suddenly heard a screeching cry and instantly jumped up, off the couch running to Darcy. I stood in her doorway and saw nothing but Darcy crying. I frowned. Suddenly I felt a tight grip around my neck and they pulled me back. I tried to get out of their grasp but it just got tighter. I looked at Darcy and pure horror filled her eyes.
