"This hand doesn't seem to quiet down." Merlin massaged her left hand with great difficulty. The redness of her skin didn't seem to tone down.

Ann, the very embodiment of innocence, was quiet sitting beside her sister on their ride back home.

Sitting in the back seat of the expensive Uber, Merlin thought about the amount of money she had spent this afternoon.

She adjusted her position, trying to keep her left arm as stable as possible, and took out her Samsung phone.

(E/N: Pog Samsung)

She looked at the screen of her bank account details, and her eyes grew to the size of saucers.

'I spent almost 40% of the money in my bank account, and the stock market is not in a good mood as well; why so many clothes, sis?'

She couldn't help but give a downtrodden smile.

Perhaps sensing that her elder sister was looking at her bank account, Ann strategically decided not to approach her dear sister.

'Amen, sister. I hope you forgive my transgressions...'

She crossed her fingers.

...

"Oh, look! They are back!"

The mother of the siblings looked on the other side of the main door that had opened up revealing the two sisters.

"We're home~!"

The carefree Ann smiled sillily and, while holding her elder sister's hand, moved to the corridor, of course not before placing their respective shoes in the shoe rack.

"Phew!" Merlin sighed while placing the shopping bags around the corner to later be taken care of.

"Go and take a bath, both of you!" Merlin's mother's voice interrupted the girls; she was standing on the other side of the corridor, which connected to the kitchen.

"Mkay~!" Ann replied in a shallow tone and stretched her arms, making them pop.

"Don't 'Mkay~' me!" The woman retorted.

Merlin looked at this playful argument between the two, without taking any part in it, having a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips.

'Heh, somehow, it seems that everything has returned to normal.'

It was no longer that pitiful situation where depression seemed to loom in every corner of Merlin's mind. This warmth that she felt was the same as before.

A warmth of belonging.

'Hm?'

She suddenly felt a stir inside her chest. It was subtle, almost unnoticeable. Even she wasn't sure if it wasn't a hallucination. Therefore, she didn't mind it.

'Perhaps it's one of those "my time has come" moments.', thought the girl silently as the sun went down the horizon.

...

Around midnight the same day, at a desolate corner of a broken and abandoned building.

Footsteps echoed, followed by a voice,

"Why did you call for me?" It was a man; his slightly long hair paired with emerald eyes made him look like a model.

The minutely unsavoury look on his face hadn't escaped the eyes of Otto.

"Leinhard." Otto corrected his collar out of habit, calling out the man with black gloves on. Seemingly not minding the look given to him.

"I have some information for you; earlier today, I found something very interesting and decided to report it to the Association."
