Kane gave Daphne a chilling look. He knew she was keeping things from him. He said that much when they met to discuss the contract without Cameron. At that meeting, Kane should have left when the feeling in the pit of his stomach alerted him. But his need to punish Cameron for ignoring him was too great. He was weak after ending his relationship with his former girlfriend, Cecilia Mane. His weakness was sexual, and he did not deny that. Cameron knew that much. She was under no guise that love was the underlying reason for their union. His bride wanted to save her father's legacy, and he agreed to do so against his better judgment.
His weakness and a gorgeous woman annoying him made him do it. Eli Williams knew Kane's business of destruction and was willing to give him money for Jaks Publishing. The Red Savage was not a nurturer. He obliterated things.
Kane turned his attention to his wife. Cameron Jaks stood there staring at him with concern. She would give him what he wanted because of her situation. His eyes roamed down the black material that hid Cameron's golden skin from his view. Kane could not wait to take from her body and ease the need for sex growing inside him.
The dark look from her husband brought back into reality what their marriage was to be. Their marriage was for revenge and to save Jaks Publishing. The design of the contract was all in Kane's favor. He would have all the wins. Cameron was a vessel for his child. Their relationship would be cold but filled with lust. She found Kane Martoi mysterious but could deal with that to save Jaks Publishing. Cameron's gaze fell on Daphne. The sorrow and uncertainty were plain to see on her sister's face. Daphne understood what she had done. Cameron could not blame her alone; she had accepted the contract.
Kane approached Cameron and gently took her hand. The strength of his grip told her he wanted to leave. Kane's arm circled her waist as the two walked toward the door. He pulled her closer to him as he leaned down toward her. "We will retire to our room." He whispered.
Brandon followed the couple from the room.
Cameron stood against the back of the elevator as Kane stood before her, staring down into her eyes. Brandon had gotten off the floor before to speak with West about other business.
"Eli Williams and Collins Overton are the lowest forms of life," Cameron whispered.
"Eli wanted to merge with your company, " Kane said, resting one palm on the cabin wall beside her head.
Her surprise was on her face as her body reacted to his statement. "How do you know that?"
"Cason investigated Dragon's Den Publishing. Eli wants to humiliate your father. Armand's death does not matter. He bested Eli in business."
Cameron frowned. "He's a coward and would never face my father when he was living. Daphne and I argued with him when Eli tried to bully us into selling. However, after our financial problems, he ramped up his attacks. We have a mole, and I know it."
Kane moved closer to her and saw her anger dissolve into nervousness. "You investigated your sister."
Cameron nodded. "I did. I made others think I did not trust her to draw the mole."
"Does Daphne know about this?" His voice was softer as he moved closer to her, pinning her against the wall.
"No," Cameron closed her eyes as Kane's body pressed against hers. His lips moved closer, but the elevator doors opened. She opened her eyes and stared up at him.
"Dinner awaits us." Kane gently took her hand and led her from the elevator.
Daphne walked towards her room, with Lucas following her. Tonight was a disaster. Kane could annul the contract or sell Jaks Publishing to Eli Williams and then annul the marriage.
