Neil's Point-of-view

Me and Amyra were busy talking with the person we accidentally collided in front of Aarohi's cabin when I heard a piece of timid flute music echoing from her room.

Recognising the tune a smile crept on my face. However, it could not last longer, as I discerned a snivel of Aarohi along with it. My heartbeat was pounding in anticipation of what could have gone wrong.

Striving to connect the dots my mind stops at Harsh Birla's, my so-called father, exit from the corridor. There was a satisfying smirk on his face, and Aarohi's sobs were only making sense to me that he must be the reason behind all this mess.

Clenching my jaw assuming every possibility of him hurting my Chipakli, I wanted to beat him black and blue.

Seeing me zone out, Amyra holds my arm to bring me back into the conversation I just wish to wrap asap. Plastering a forced smile on my face, I pretend to be engrossed in their tedious talk.

Entangled in a situation where all I crave is to break into the cabin and embrace my Aarohi tightly. Making sure she feels safe and content to share her grievances for once.

I needed her to vent it out for once at least. Without thinking about anyone else or the consequences, just let go of all her worries.

After Harsh exit, I tried to engross into the file once again. But whom am I fooling? I can't brush off a single thought related to my Chamkadar. A lone tear escapes my eyes remembering the moment I realised the true meaning of love.

The D-Day

It was a year back when I, Dr Aarohi, kept a fast on Teej as insisted by my dearest Mimi, my great-grandmother so that I could be blessed with a loving partner and happy family.

''Apparently for the one who could tolerate my mood swings not as tantrums but as love and care. Which is next to impossible to find!'' - I exclaim to Mimi while going to the temple with her.

In the evening as usual I was busy on a call attending a patient who personally reached out to me for better guidance.

Engrossed in my phone, going through minute details shared by the concerned person, I did not realise when the stairs pathway came.

I was wearing a lehenga with minimal jewellery making me the star of the night.

That is what he complimented me, his first intimated talk, -- a blush adorned Aarohi's face while cherishing those memories.

My lehenga and toe finger entwined staggering in losing my balance. With a loud shriek, I rolled down a few steps. Getting a grip of the staircase railing I tiredly manage to halt my toss midway.
