.They got engaged two weeks ago.
The ceremony took place in a private location, hidden from prying eyes, as per his demand. It wasn’t extravagant; it was just her and his uninvited family. This was due to the risks surrounding their lives—hers being in danger, and his life filled with danger. He wanted to protect her from the paparazzi, business partners, and enemies who might manipulate her against him.
He also didn’t want to disrupt her peaceful life and turn it into a chaotic one for the sake of months.
In the first week, they met frequently to give the impression to their families that they were considering marriage, but they actually do? their true intention was to devise a plan for a divorce that would seem reasonable and raise no suspicions. During this time, they began to form a connection.
She gradually start placing her trust in him,
He gradually start respecting and obeying her,
Without their knowledge.
But for the past five days, they haven’t met. He called her once during that time, simply to ask if she had any ideas, but she didn’t have any to share. It’s not that he lacked plans; he just didn’t want to impose them on her. His life was lonely, with no one he depended on. He is the only one who matters to him, but in her case. She cares for others; her life depends on them, and she wanted to devise a plan that would work for both of them.
She yearned to come up with a strategy that would benefit them, one that would seamlessly align with her situation, leaving no room for doubt. She wished to bring off something meaningful for her mother before her gone, and now she felt a similar desire to help him. If there was a way to help them both, she would snatch the opportunity.
Since that call three days ago, he has vanished from her life. Yet, thoughts of him began to occupy her mind during her free moments.
Like now,
She was sitting in a corner of her college canteen, absentmindedly lost in thoughts of him while rolling her Intex figure ring. “Where has he gone? Why hasn’t he called me again? Is he nearby or far away? He didn’t even tell me. I long to see his forest green eyes!”
Aayesha's thoughts were interrupted by Rhea's teasing voice, "He's not here." Rhea's tone dripped with playful sarcasm as she set their drinks and steaming momos on the table before taking a seat across from her.
Aayesha narrowed her eyes, struggling to grasp the meaning behind Rhea's words. "What? He?" she inquired, her confusion evident.
With a smirk, other woman continued to tease, "Your future husband isn't around, so maybe stop staring off into space."
