Casey pointed to the green Ford F-150 and I smiled. We’re finally to his house! I’ve enjoyed the ride and conversation but I’m ready to relax. I’m about to go into my crush’s house, relaxing isn’t going to happen! I parked in the driveway next to the truck and we got out.
“Welcome to my house.” He smiled.
“Thank you.”
He led the way to the door, into the living room and yelled “Dad, I brought someone home for dinner!”
“Thanks for the warning! I didn’t cook!” Mr. Anderson yelled back.
I giggled and started looking around the house. I used to live in a nice house like this until we lost it all.
Mr. Anderson walked into the living room, saw me and smiled. “I figured it was you. Did you get your papers finished?”
“Yes sir.” We both replied.
“Can I turn it in now and get the extra credit?” I added.
He smiled. “The paper isn’t in hand so how about you give it to me in class? I’ll give you double extra credit since you drove my son home.”
“Okay. Do you want me to cook for you guys?”
“No, you’re a guest in our house. I’ll order pizza if it’s fine with you two.”
“As long as there’s no mushrooms on it, I’m allergic.”
“We’re meat eaters, not veggie eaters anyway so no worries. Do you care where I order from?”
“My favorite is Stuffed Crust from Pizza Hut.”
“Sounds good to me. I’m going to call it in and get back to grading these tests.”
“We’ll be in my room.” Casey replied.
Mr. Anderson nodded and went to his room. Casey gave me a tour of his house, ending in the bedroom. He plopped on his bed and smiled at me. I smiled nervously and bit my knuckle. I can’t believe we are in his room alone!
