PREPARING -- 9

Laila is jolted out of her memory by Alaric speaking, "no, its like I blacked out, and woke up  three days later."

Stefan crosses his arms and nods, he speaks in a firm tone, "Katherine was there. She's under compulsion, Damon went and snuck her some vervain, she cant leave until Klaus says she can."

Jenna sits up, "where is Damon?" she questions, glancing over at Elena.

Elena stands up from her chair, "i saw him go upstairs." she says as she shuffles her shirt around before walking off and heading for the stairs. Laila sits up properly as her glance follows Elena.

Alaric sighs and turns back to everyone else, "so.. what else did i do?"

before anyone else can speak, Laila's head shoots to the direction of the stairs, she hears muffled yells. Stefan uncrosses his arms and turns to Laila, "Laila, what is it?"

Laila turns to Stefan as her face drops, "Elena."

Laila flashes away from her seat and appears behind Damon whos force feeding Elena blood. she shoves him across the room as Stefan walks in. Laila rushes down to Elena who fell to the floor, Stefan yells at Damon, "what did you do!?"

Damon stands up, panting. "i saved her life." he says bluntly. he continues speaking, but this time directly to Elena. "you're bent on dying, this way i know you'll come back."

Laila scoffs and shakes her head as she stands up, "yeah, as a vampire!"

Damon shrugs, "better than nothing."

Laila scoffs and shakes her head, sharing a glance with Stefan, "how could you take that choice away from her?"

Elena pants as she looks up, blood around her mouth as she pants. Damon looks down at her, "go ahead, wish me an eternity of misery. believe me, you'll get over it."

at that point, Stefan gave up. he shoves Laila out of the way as he charges straight for Damon. The veins growing under his eyes, his teeth sticking out. he pounces on Damon, Damon goes flying back into the wall, crashing into the desk. Elena pants with tears in her eyes as she calls out quietly, "Stefan."

Laila sits up and goes to walk over to Elena to get her out of there, but she's interrupted by Damon pinning Stefan to the wall, holding a wooden stake sideways strangling him slightly.

as Stefan struggles Damon spits out words in Stefans face, "just admit it Stefan, you just wish you had the balls to do it yourself."

Stefan groans and throws the stake away, shoving Damon back, he throws a punch, but Damon blocks it. until, Stefan punches Damon straight in the face, and again, and again using his vampire enhanced strength to hit him hard enough to feel dizzy.

Elena is stood up now, Stefan hits Damon hard enough that Damon falls to the floor, however, Stefan goes to hit Damon again but instead Damon grabs the stake off the floor and stands up quickly, and plunges it into Stefan's stomach, Stefan coughs and falls to his knees, Laila shouts, "Damon no!"

Laila and Elena rush over to Stefan, Elena turns around to Damon, "Damon go, get out of here."

Alaric and Jenna rush in as Alaric asks in a panic, "what is going on?"

Elena pants, "get him out of here."

Alaric rushes over as Jenna looks down at Stefan, "oh my god."

Damon stands up and walks over to the door, sending glares like death at Stefan. Alaric looks up at Jenna, "okay, Jenna there are some blood bags down in the basement, go and get them now."
