MICHAEL'S POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quinn and I sat on the floor of her bathroom, the contents of her first aid kit sprawled across the floor. I hissed as she dabbed some alcohol on my cuts.
I had to admit, I did do this to myself. Throwing myself in a fight for a boy I just met wasn't my smartest decision.
"Turn your head," Quinn commanded softly. I did, and winced as she pressed the soft cotton ball damp with disinfectant onto my head.
"You really need to stop getting into trouble, Michael," Quinn said, referring to that moment where we almost got caught spying at the dinner party.
"I know, I know. But it's just inevitable at this point," I said, shrugging.
She sighed and unwrapped some gauze. She carefully wrapped it around my head, tufts of my hair covering some parts of the bandage.
"You'd be a good nurse, you know," I said to her as she held my arm, checking for more injuries.
She blushed. "Thanks. I actually want to be a nurse one day."
I smiled at her. It occurred to me that she was actually really pretty. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she carefully placed a bandaid onto my elbow.
"Do you feel any pain anywhere else?" She asked, looking at me.
I remembered that look. The look I had strived to see for so long, before the incident.
"Yeah, my nose kind of hurts," I responded.
"Let me see."
She pulled my head by my chin with a curved index finger. My heart raced a mile a minute.
No. I could not have a crush on Quinn. I would get distracted from my missions and let all of Ireland, heck, all of the world down if I got distracted from just one mission.
"Your nose is fine...just a little bruised," She informed, cleaning up. "Other than that you should be good for now."
I nodded. "Thanks, Quinn."
She turned and smiled. "No problem. Turns out you're alright."
I rolled my eyes. "As if you didn't already know that."
She laughed and tried to reach for a high shelf above the bathroom mirror.
I stepped behind her and took it, placing it in the shelf for her. She looked at me, and I looked at her.
Just like all those years ago.
"Y-you should get going," She stuttered. My heart cracked a small bit.
"Of course. Goodbye, Quinn."
