"Honey, she is just a child!" The voice echos off the walls of the room. Hosiko stands in front of the crying 10 year old child. The man approached her mother as the sound of a slap echoed through the room. She falls to the floor as she holds her cheek. The 10 year old looks up at her father as he picks her up by the nap of the neck of her shirt. He pulls her up as he looks her in the eyes and sets in on her.
Toshiko jerks awake as she sits up in her bed. She covered her face as she was trying to get herself back together. When the door opens to her room. Her and Satoru were rommies since she agreed to help him take care of Megumi. Satoru started to say something when he stopped completely. "Hey, you ok?" He sits down next to her on the bed. He puts his hand on her back as she looks up at him. She wipes her eyes as she looks away. Her messy blue hair shifts slightly as her bang covers her left eye. "Yeah, I'm fine." She sniffles as she starts moving off of the bed. Satoru let's his hand fall to the bed as he watched her. With that small smirk on his face, he always wears. He tilts his head." Hey, look, I know a lot has happened. You know you can talk to me, right?  She looks back at him as her golden eyes lock with his blue eyes. "Yeah. It's...I just..."She sighs as she looks away as she hangs over the sink. Her hands proped on the counter. Satoru gets up as he leans against the doorway of the bathroom. With him, there is no personal space which she was used to with her going to school with him and everything. He slides his sunglasses up as he looks to the side. "Is it about anything recently?" She shakes her head. "No more like 7 years ago." His eyes dart back to her he looks confused concerned and worried. What could be bothering her that far back? She lifts her head as she looks at him. "It's about my father. I didn't have the best childhood going up. It's something I avoid talking about. It's not exactly the pretties thing. I thought I had grown and pushed it behind me. But boy, was I wrong." Satoru crossed his arms lightly as he looked ahead of him. He then put his finger on his chin as he was thinking. He didn't want to push, but he was also worried about her. He just stays quiet. Toshiko was in the process of getting herself ready when something caught the attention of both of them. Two demon dogs that are puppies come running in as one sits down in front of Satoru with its tongue stuck out. The white one runs to Toshiko as it nudges her and whines a little.
When a little boy not far behind them. 7 year old Megumi he rubs his eyes as the black one sticks it tongue back in and looks at Megumi. Toshiko looks at Megumi. "Hey, sleepy head." She says as she pets the white puppy. Megumi looks at both of them. "Is there school today?" Satoru laughs as he pushes himself off the wall he ruffles Megumi's hair. "No. It's the weekend, silly." Megumi's face lights up as he looks up at Satoru. " Oh, can we go to the park then?" It had kind of became a tradition that they would take Megumi to the park or the playground on the weekends as a reward for his good behavior at school and many other things. It's the best they knew and could think of with him and her so young. They were teenagers taking care of a kid. Toshiko nods "Yes we sure can. Go get ready, Satoru, and I will  meet you at the front door." Megumi lights up more as he turns and goes to get ready. Satoru and Toshiko look at each as she smiles, and he gives that grin. He heads out he was already ready.
It wasn't long after they all three were walking to the park. Megumi's demon hounds were walking on each side of him. They were cute as they obeyed every one of Megumi's commands. But one thing was for sure they will protect Megumi. Toshiko and Satoru were walking side by side. She hadn't said much she was looking ahead and watching Megumi in front of them. Her blue swayed slightly from them walking. Satoru had his hands in his pockets. It wasn't long since they got to the park when Megumi looked back at Satoru. He nodded as Megumi ran off to go play with the other kids. The puppies stayed with them. Satoru was trying to come up with a way to make Toshiko talk. This wasn't usually like her she was cheerful, cracking jokes, and carefree. She was just more responsible than Satoru at times. "You know you should just talk about it. We have been friends long enough. You know you can tell me anything. I won't judge. I may laugh but not judge." He teases her she looks over at him as she chuckles. "Yeah, I know. It's just ever since Toji that fight with him woke some things, I guess." He looks over at her. "So it was something that happened recently. Toshiko, come on." He pleds more this time. It's not that he wants to know her business he just wants to make sure she is ok. She sighs deeply as she looks away from him. She felt bad one of the puppies nudged her with its tongue hung out. Toshiko looks up at Satoru. "I'm sorry. It's was just how Toji acted he was so cold and didn't care what he said or did. When he stabbed me in the stomach, it just woke things up in me. With Suguru leaving, I just...." Satoru could see it written all over her face. "Toshiko. You're not in this alone anymore. You have me and Megumi now." He puts his hand on her shoulder. "We will get through this. Now  bring back the old Toshiko." He lifts her chin with his index finger. Her cheeks have a pink tint with them. The breeze comes by and blows both of their hair. It was like time just stood still, his eyes locked on hers. She could see them through his sunglasses it was like the ocean was swallowing her up. It wasn't long that time came back. She cracked a smile as she slightly played, pushing him. "What would I do without you?" She laughs as she walks away. Satoru's cheeks turned a little pink when she laid her hands on him even though it was just a playful push. His heart speeds up a little. It was a feeling he couldn't explain he brushed it off as she was walking away. He caught up with her as they kept talking and keeping an eye on Megumi.
