They continued around the park when it was getting late. They call Megumi for him to come back to them. Then Satoru had the idea for them to just go get something to eat for the evening. They walk to the cafe. Satoru holds the door open for Toshiko and Megumi as they walk in. They sit down and order what they want. Megumi was starting to get sleepy as Satoru took the check up front and pays as she scoops Megumi up. He lays his head on her shoulder as his little cheek is squished on her shoulder. His little arm dangles over her arm, and she walks to the door as they walk out. They were heading back to the house. It was quiet. The sun was just about to go down. The crickets chirping a gentle breeze of the summer hits their skin. Toshiko looks down as she looks over at Satoru. "So about earlier today, I'm sorry." He glances over at her with that smug look on his face. His eyes bright blue in the dark, his hands resting comfortably in his pockets. "It's no big deal, really. I just wanted to make sure you gonna be around, you know. Megumi is already hard to take care of but throws a depressed person in that, too. I mean, I could do it. After all, I'm the strongest and could make it work.." Toshiko rolls her eyes as she looks ahead of her. Him and his strongest, but she caught what he meant. As much he wouldn't admit it, he likes having her around. She shifts Megumi around a little bit as he whines a little in his sleep as he moves his head but is still asleep. Satoru glances over at her and Megumi once again. He couldn't help but crack a small smile. Sure, neither one has really taken the time to process everything, but Megumi has been like the life saver for both. A breath of fresh air at times. It's a reminder that they have to keep going, and it not just them anymore.
They finally get back to the house as he opens the door. Toshiko takes her shoes off at the door. She is just in her socks. She took Megumi to his room right away. She lays him down as she takes his shoes off and lays them on the floor next to the bed. She moves him more in the bed as she tucks him in. He is dead to the world, all relaxed and peace without a care. She runs her hand through his spiky hair that's all over the place. She felt something special with this little stinker, even if he was a handful at times. This was something Toshiko never had as a kid. Love the care. She puts her hand on his forehead. There is a connection there. This is what she became a sorcerer for to help others in their time of need. She smiles as she gets up and walks out of her room and turns his light out as she slides the door shut quietly behind her. Satoru was sitting on the couch as she walked out of Megumi's room. She goes and sits down with him. Satoru looks over at her. He couldn't help but feel something from that happy smile in her face. He looks back in front of him as he puts his feet on the coffee table. He lays back and puts his hands behind his head. His snow white hair was scrunched up in the back from his hands. "You know i never thought I would do something like this. Besides, his father gave me his blessing. I couldn't just ignore it." She leans forward a little bit as she listens to him. "Yeah, I still remember the day you showed up with him. I thought you had lost your mind. But I'm honored you asked me. I have grown to like the little stinker." Satoru laughs as he pushes his sunglasses up and rubs his eyes. "Yeah, it's definitely been an experience." He leans up a little as his glassed stayed in his hair. He takes his feet off the table. He puts his elbows on his thighs as he hunches over his hands, lying inside of his legs. "I miss him a lot." She jerks her head up as she looks over at him. That was the first time in a while that he had even mentioned Suguru after everything. She couldn't believe what she was seeing a tear fall down his face. Satoru is strong, but this shows her that he is still human. She scooted closer as she put her hand on his shoulder. She didn't say anything, just sat there with him. He finally lifts his head as he looks at her he holds her as he puts his face in her shoulder. She couldn't believe what was happening. She wrapped her arms around him as she rubbed her hand on his back to comfort him. She takes his sunglasses off his forehead as she holds them in one hand as she lays her cheek on top of his head.
"I miss him too. I still remember all the trouble we used to get into." She giggles a little them three was always trouble. Considering him and her turned everything into a competition and game still do at times. Satoru grips the fabric of her shirt. He pushes his face harder against her shoulder. His body was shaking the spot his face was at. It was wet. She just holds him closer. "It's gonna be okay. We will get through this."
They stayed like that for the longest time. Satoru finally started to relax his grip, getting softer his body wasn't shaking as bad as it was anymore. But he didn't want to move. He was comfortable. He moved his head a little so he could breathe better. She could see his eyes were a little puffy. He stretched out on the couch as he lays on her. Toshiko adjusts as she lays back in the crock of the couch. She lays her head on the cushion as she starts to fall asleep. The room was quiet besides the small breaths from him and her and the crickets outside. She looks down at Satoru. Just something about his face being squished against her chest made her heartbeat a little faster. He looked so cute but also so vulnerable. The fact her trusted her enough to be like this around her made her feel special cause Satoru doesn't show emotion. He has his ways of things showing he cares. He tells in around about ways you just have read between the lines and if he fights for you he likes you and you hold a special place. She closed her eyes as she watched his peaceful face.
The next morning, she wakes up to the sunlight hitting her face. She squints her eyes as she moves her head slightly she makes a small noise with her still half asleep. She was waiting for her vision to clear up when she could smell the coffee brewing it filled the living room. She could hear it brewing she had realized she was laying alone on the couch with a blanket on her. Toshiko's vision had finally cleared up when she leaned up on the couch as the blanket fell off of her. She stretched her arms as she yawned. She looked around and saw Satoru at the table he had his sunglasses laying on the table. She stands up as she finishes stretching as she walks in there. "Hey, good morning." She says softly and slightly quietly as she is still kind of asleep. He looks up at her as he gives a small smile. "Hey, how did you sleep?" She sits down as she was slunched over slightly from not being fully awake. Her hair was slightly messier than before. "I actually slept pretty well last night. I didn't have any dreams or I was too tired one." She chuckles. Satoru rubs his eye as he looks down. "Yeah, I know what you mean. I slept pretty well as well. But of course, I did have a good pillow." He teases her as he lifts an eyebrow watching her. "Well, I'm glad I'm good for something." She teases back as he laughs at her comment. Toshiko doesn't bring up the part before that. She left it alone, and it was like it never happened but did happen. Just for his sake, she knows it had to be hard on him, considering he sees himself as a strong one. But even they have breaking points. She smiles as the coffee maker is finished he gets up and pours him and her a cup as he sticks half the bowl of sugar in his cup. She just chuckles at him as she takes a sip of hers it was so good with just the right amount of sugar and coffee. He looks up at her as he stirs his sugar cup mostly. "So I have been thinking. I may go and be a teacher at the tech. I will be teaching the 2 years." She sits her cup down as she is quiet. At first , she nods, understanding. "Whatever you do decide, I'm for you all the way. It would be perfect though you will be at school while Megumi is at school. I can pick him up cause I know you will be late at times, which is fine. I can even take small jobs here and there while you both are out." Satoru sits his cup down from him, taking a sip. "Yeah, that would help, actually. Plus a win-win, you still get to do sorcerery, and so will I. Cause I'm sure I will still be sent out on jobs, especially with the students." She nods in agreement. This is when it all started. Toshiko and Satoru somedays wanted to give up at the same time or separate times. But once they got a routine going, things started running smoothly. Satoru was now covering his eyes with a white wrap as his hair stood up now. She missed the glasses and his hair down, but the new look was growing on her. She understands why just she hates the fact that he has hidden his eyes. They are so beautiful to look at. Things was looking up for the three.
