Julie and Jen stuffed the mushrooms the cute frat boy had given them in their mouths. They washed the bitter aftertaste down with a cold Schlitz beer. Then the girls set off for a walk around campus. It took about an hour for the hallucinatory effects to really get going. As they walked through Red Square, Julie noticed that the bricks that made up the expansive plaza seemed to heave like waves at a beach.
"Cool," Julie cooed. Jen just bobbed her head appreciating some interesting bending occuring on the walls and windows of the Suzzallo Library.
The friends stumbled on, noticing some of the campus sculptures took on fantastic shapes and colors. After a few hours it wore off and they walked back to their dorm.
Julie shook her head, reliving the 30-year-old college memory.
"So what exactly do you propose?" Julie asked Jessica, who stood in front of the ladies group wearing pajama bottoms and a t-shirt with no bra on. All four women were dressed casually at the remote cabin getaway they had driven to.
"It's called microdosing," said Jessica. In her hand was a ziplock bag with a brownish powder. "It doesn't give you any big trip or anything but just kind helps you expand your mind."
Julie and the other two ladies present at the remote cabin squinted at the baggie again. Cat stood wrapped in a fleece blanket. Margo wore a baggy sweatsuit and got out her reading glasses for a closer look at Jessica's contraband.
"I've heard it doesn't do anything if you are on an antidepressant," said Cat.
"Oh drat," said Margo. "I just started some for my hot flashes."
"Well I'm right there with you sister," said Julie. "I'm on them for anxiety."
Cat shook her head at Jessica, confirming she was out as well.
"Ok, fine," said Jessica, stuffing the bag of powdered mushrooms back in her overnight bag. "Who wants more wine?"
"I do," choroused the other three ladies.
"And ice cream!" shouted Julie.
