(trigger warning! - age gap)
"When they all say, "Hello", you try to ignore them, Cause you want more (why?)"
Art Deco- Lana Del Rey

"One more hour we got this!" You yelled out to Lorie, your closing manager for the night as she shook her head at you with smile breaking across her face from your crazy antics.

You smiled to yourself as you turned away from Lorie, and headed back to cash wrap one, where Michael was setting aside the books he was about to shelve.

Your heart raced as you walked up to him, feeling a little shy and self conscious as you walked up to him.

Michael had been here before you had started working at your job about a year ago, and it has been quite a rollercoaster of emotions when it came to him.

"He's just shy", Michelle, your main manager would try to comfort you, as she always did, sometimes a bit too much, as she knew that you and just about everyone else was skeptical of Michael on their first day.

You were no stranger to the feeling as you couldn't help but noticing the tall almost seven foot man that practically towered over all the bookshelves in the store, as he did his job.

--------

When you first started out you took the advice of your fellow coworkers and steered clear of him which was easy at first as he preferred working at cash wrap two, and the vinyl record section of the store, and you preferred cash wrap one in which allowed you to be around your favorite sections, and was across the other side of the store.

But as the months passed, and more specifically the nights you both usually worked the night shifts, it was hard not to notice him more often and his small antics that made you smile to yourself, or they way his long dirty blond hair would flow as he walked around shelving, and which sections he enjoyed more, which always seemed to be the records and manga.

You couldn't help but find yourself intrigued by the man you worked with, how could one not especially for how quiet and shy he seemed to be. Not to mention how you found him quiet handsome at times. His eyes were a soft blue that resembled a clear blue sky, and the strong build of someone who looked like they belonged more on a construction site, than an old bookstore in a small town.

Not to mention, the age difference between one another, he had to have been at least what seemed eight years older than you and although you weren't opposed to such a difference, it solidified the certainty that the man was off limits.

Yet none of those things could stop you from fantasizing him, in many ways that you would never dare admit out loud, but it still lingered in your conscious every time it had a second to wander.

It came to one day, a few months back, a while after you had began working in the store, you were assigned for the first time to work with Michael, as you both ended up being in charge of the register.

It was a Tuesday, which in an already slow bookstore as it is, was even slower in the night. Thus, leading you both to continue on with your duties away from the register. You were dusting up in the fiction shelves when you heard a loud ruckus coming from your semi-far left side. You jumped at the loud sound, and turned to see Michael on the floor with copies of mass paperbacks scattered all in front of him.

You frowned as you saw him begin to pick up the small books, and you simply couldn't stand and watch. You left the duster upon the shelf and made your way to him, as you crouched next to him and began helping him pick up the books silently. You noticed as he stopped in his tracks as he saw you from the corner of his eye helping you.
