Diana was seated at the doctor's launch drinking her coffee in silence. She can feel her pregnancy weighing her down finally considering she's one week to her due date. Jason walked in the room with a mischievous smile on his face and she raised an eyebrow.
"What's wrong with you??" She said silently and he excitedly took a seat and sat down in front of her.
"You have questions to answer but instead you've pumped me with patients after patients but now am on a break!!!" Dr Malik said and she took another sip of her coffee.
"You have nothing important to do on your free time other than gossip??!!"
"It's not gossip if it's about you!!!"
"Don't you have to take a shit or something??!"
"I already did so now my questions... "
"Oh boy–"
"Are you and the Italian dating???"
"No!!"
"Okay have you two kissed??"
"I think I've given you too much freedom for a fucking intern!!!"
"So I take that as a yes!!!"
"No!!! Are you dumb or something?? Am pregnant fool!!!"
"So what if you're pregnant!!! You're not supposed to get some dick now??!!"
"Yeah I've given you too much freedom!!!"

"That's not the question!!!"
"Am not willing to be in any relationship at the moment!!! All am thinking about is how the fuck am going to get this baby out of me!!!"
"I hear you but–"
"But nothing!!! We didn't make out, we didn't hook up, yes he's an amazing guy but that is what Miguel was too before I found out he's been fucking my best friend!!! So no buts...am not ready for any relationship at the moment!!!" She said sternly and Malik smiled.
"I understand you but don't let the mistake of one man ruin your future with another!!!" He said silently and she smiled as his pager beeped.
"Run shadow!!!" She said as he looked at the pager.
"Don't build your hopes up!!!" He said getting up and she chuckled.
"Am ready to cut!!!" She said wiggling her fingers and he laughed before rushing out.
She rubbed her belly gently leaning further back to her seat and her phone buzzed.

Hi... I know you are probably busy right now but I was really hoping I could take you out for dinner.
Her.
I have a busy day.

I understand. When do you start your maternity live??
Her.

Well I have to tell you in person.

If it's that urgent you can come to the hospital!!

If I come to the hospital I have to take you out for dinner!!

I see what you did there... My driver brought me to the hospital today. Pregnancy has gotten very tiresome.

She switched off her phone and continued drinking her coffee when suddenly her pager beeped. She groaned silently before getting up and rushing to the emergency wing. She took a pair of gloves and wore them as she approached the trauma bay. The crowed entrance cleared up as she walked in.
"This is interesting!!!" She said looking at the patient whose had an open side chest and a glass spike through his chest.
"Glass shard has raptured his left lung we plunged in a chest tube but he's still in vtach!!" The other doctor said calmly as she took some wrapped bandages to hold the glass shard steady.
"Take the family to the waiting area!!!" She said calmly to the nurse as the other nurse taped the bandage rolls on each side of the glass shard holding it steady.
"Heart rate is dropping!!" The nurse said as the machine started beeping.
"Scan!!" She said stretching her hand while looking at the xrays on the screen. She was given the scan and she placed it over his chest and after few seconds of observation she was given a blade and she made a cut clamping the leaking vessels and his heart rate stabalized.
"Call the OR tell them you're on your way up with an open chest!!!" She said calmly and they wheeled him away as she and Jason watched.
"If we started compressions he would have died right??" Dr Malik said removing his gloves and Dr Pierce smirked.
"But you didn't start compressions Dr Malik!!!" She said calmly she removed her gloves.
"How did you feel having to cut??!" He said smiling lightly.
"Feels like I just got my pregnancy craving!!!" She said smiling and he laughed as they walked away. They got into the main hospital wing when security stopped her.
"You have a visitor Doc!!!" The security guy said pointing out to a lady dressed in a large fury white coat and her smile disappeared.
"Are you okay??" Jason said lightly observing as her body language as it changed drastically.
"Go work to the OR I'll be there in a few!!!" She said calmly before walking up to the lady.
"What are you doing here??" Diana said coldly and the lady stood up smiling.
"How are you doing my daughter??!" The lady said lightly and she chuckled.
"Daughter?? Me you're daughter??? Cut to the chase what do you want!!!"
"When is your due date??!!"
"Am sure you didn't come all this way for that!!!"
"I tried calling you!!"
"Why???"
"Am concerned!!! You are my child!!!"
"Concerned??"
"You and Miguel–"
"Exactly!!! That's why you are here to plead his case!!! "
"He's a good man Diana!!!"
" Then you marry him!!!"
"Don't be disrespectful!!!"
"Or what?? You'll call your husband and brother to have his rounds on me again??? What??? What will you do???"
"That was many years ago!!!"
"And that was the time you stopped being my mother!!!"

"Stay the fuck away from me!!!"
"That child needs a father and grandparents!!!"
"A father yes... Grandparents no... So this better be the last time you ever show your face here!!! You are dead to me so stay that way!!!" Diana said coldly before walking away.
