Anya had been missing for more than three months and according to the police, despite their best efforts, they have failed to find Anya.

And now Mrs. Kim and Noah had also lost all hope.

"Mom. I'm going to school", Noah said, walking toward the door.

Mrs. Kim who was washing the dishes immediately came out of the kitchen after washing her hands and grabbing the car keys.

"You won't go alone, I'll drop you off"

"What? Why?", Noah protested, "I can go alone"

"No, absolutely not", Mrs. Kim said firmly, her voice stern. "You will not go anywhere alone. I will drop you to school and I will pick you up."

Noah sighed in frustration. He knew it was useless to argue with her when she was in this mood.

"Mom, I'm sixteen, I can go to school alone."

"I don't care," Mrs. Kim said, walking toward the door. "You will not go anywhere alone."

"I can't lose my second child"," she whispered under her breath.

Noah understood her fear for his safety. After losing Anya, Mrs. Kim had become overprotective of him. Wherever he went, she would make sure to go with him.

He walked over to his mom and hugged her from behind.

"You won't lose me, Mom," He mumbled.

Mrs. Kim froze for a moment; her heart skipped a beat as she heard her son's words. She took a deep breath, trying to hold back her tears.

"Promise me," She mumbled, her voice wobbly. "Promise me, you won't leave me alone."

"I won't," Noah mumbled, tightening his arms around her.

Mrs. Kim slowly turned around and hugged him tightly. She buried her face in his shoulder and held him close against her chest.

She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm her racing heart.

"You are the only family I have now. I can't lose you. I can't" " she mumbled, her voice thick with emotion.

Noah stayed silent, just hugging her tightly and letting her hold him close.

"You will always stay with me, right?", She whispered, her voice small and shaky. "You won't leave me alone, right?"

Noah didn't reply instantly, but after a few seconds, he spoke.

"I promise", He mumbled in her ears, "I will always be with you."

The tears that were threatening to spill suddenly started flowing down her cheeks. She tightened her grip on him, holding him even closer to her.

"You're the only family I have left," she said again, her tears wetting his shirt.

Noah let her. He didn't say anything and just kept on holding her.
