Welcome!

You hold a book in your hands (or paws, or hooves, or any other appendages...). Its title is printed with turquoise foil onto its sky blue surface. You read it silently to yourself, "Promises Cerulean".

Once you're far too intrigued to turn away, you gingerly crack it open. A note is taped to the inside of the cover. On dusty yellowed paper with cursive letters written in deep sapphire ink, it reads as follows:

"There are all sorts of wonder still left in the world. Whether you have chosen to forget, or cannot recall as consequence of complacency, the Meadows call upon you to restore that which you've lost.

Now is your chance, as you're beckoned closer by this magic. Your heart echoes its chorus, you've known it before. That all wonder in the world is born out of love, as evidenced by fables you're soon to witness. Will you take this journey with me?"

Though the author's name is lost upon you, still you turn the page...

Recurring Characters:

🐇 Cole Seymour 🌾

• "To be drawn to you is a kindness" ♪
• Darkened by the dullest of grays
• Long, hay-like fringe
• Second to oldest Lark
• A mask bearing the features of a hare

Cole represents the Storyteller, and like this Harker, is a loyal friend and lover of tales. They enjoy music, play a ukulele, and do a lot of thinking, behind that long, hay colored fringe. Sometimes they think too much, and can be nervous, quiet, anxious, and jumpy at times. However, one step on stage, and Cole's demeanor transforms into that of a truly profound performer. Perhaps, a leader, even.

🐐 Clémente Dearworth 🔔

• "Speak your prose with none to please" ♪
• Eyes of silver, mirror, mirror
• Ringlets of tight, golden thread
• Second to youngest in the lot
• A mask adorned by kid's horns

Nicknamed by the other members of The Lark as a sweeter twist to their given name, Clémentine represents the Bellringer, Yarrow, and wears a golden voice like a bell in kind. They are compassionate, brave, and free. Yet when they feel trapped or caged for too long, they often run from the problem. Their heart is big enough to hold each member of The Lark dear to them, and they are first to know when someone isn't at their best.

🌳 Kingsley 🦗

• "Bata! Ikaw ang kamahalan!" ♪
• A pair of periwinkle blues
• Wild, untamed curls
• The youngest of the bunch
• A mask made of fresh bark

Carrying no surname, Kingsley is just Kingsley. Their name is a perfectly accurate descriptor for their unique, clever, and charming personality. Just as much as it can be tiring, their energy is contagious, reflected in wild, dark curls and full smiles. They represent the Enkindled, their unbound childish whimsy bringing peace no matter the situation. The other members of The Lark often find themselves with no choice but to partake in this form of wonder too.

🪶 Peregrine August 🍂

• "Faults, favors, failures and the truth" ♪
• Sparsely distinguished, chestnut and olive
• Dark and thick, intertwined in two braids
• The eldest member of the group
• A mask resembling a moose

Perrine is representative of The Croon, a force to be reckoned with, like discord itself. As the eldest, they are regarded as the most responsible and protective over their friends. They are very emotional, although they often have trouble communicating. They are also tactical and full of book smarts; the other members of their group will often look to them for help when it comes to practicality. Although they are working on expressing their feelings with their friends, their actions are more than enough for their friends to understand how Perrine truly loves them.

Yaelokre is a storytelling project run by Keath Ósk, whom I have no association with. All characters featured are not mine, but belong to Yaelokre. These stories I am sharing are created by me, and are only meant to bring you a bit more magic from Meadowlark as the creator cooks up the next portions of the story, as well as being a love-letter to the wonder it brought to me. However, I am human, and like all persons, I make mistakes. Please let me know if you spot anything that is not how it should be, thank you!

Things to note:
• The Lark and Harkers only use they/it pronouns, and will be addressed as such
• Although I have tried my best to base writings on canon information, everything in the lore is already subject to change, and my silly little stories are not an accurate reflection of the project
• Comments that are inappropriate, disrespectful, or harmful will be removed, so don't bother writing them
• I'm not taking requests as of right now! I may consider it in the future, however, I already have plenty of ideas I need to branch out first
• Due to the lack of information regarding where The Lark resides and for storytelling purposes, I've placed them together in a small house in a forest near the meadows for the time being

Yapping:
• I wanted to give this a storybook vibe, similar to that of media created by Yaelokre themselves. For this reason, I've included plenty of figurative language, and old-sounding speech, and such. I'm a literature nerd if you couldn't tell :-)
• This is my first ever published book! I'm a bit nervous, but all the more excited to share what I've been working on, and my love for these silly little guys.
• In between chapters, I'll include small surprises such as poems, drawings, and other things, just for fun. I wanted to test this structure, since I don't think I've seen it before!
• I'm a yapper, expect tons of unnecessary information after each chapter 😁

So without further ado, into the tales we dive!

Will you take this journey with me? 🌱

we could say, "let it be"
