They get down at the next station for some food. Jungkook was in a dilemma: how could he eat with a mask on? He has to do something to cover his face. When Taehyung walked in front, he looked around for anything that could help him in the situation.
"Mask, mask, mask, N95, Cloth masks, magic masks, everything for 10, mask, mask..."
He saw a man selling some masks on the platform.
"Magic masks?" He asked the seller.
"Yes sir. See the magic mask. You don't have to remove it when you eat" The man took a mask and showed the mask with a slit!! Jungkook's eyes widened in joy.
"2 please" he took twenty rupees and ordered. Taehyung was walking in front and looked around to check on him.
"JK?"
"Coming.." Jungkook said while putting on his new mask.
Taehyung stopped in front of a stall, a lady in her late sixties was the seller there.
"Hello paati" ( grandmother in Tamil)
"Kanna" ( 'lovely son' in Tamil)
"How are you paati?"
"I am fit and fine. See" she grinned, showing her toothless gum.
"Yes yes. May you stay healthy forever like this."
"Do you want Vada?"
"Is that a question? Please make it two. I have a friend with me" he said when Jungkook approached him. The lady smiled at him. He pressed his hands together to greet the lady (🙏) respectfully, she returned the gesture.
"This is Kamala paati. She is a famous cook in this area. She has been selling snacks in the station for years. Whenever I take the train, I will definitely eat her snacks" Taehyung introduced her. Jungkook smiled politely to her.
"Wait. You got a new mask?"
"Yeah. See, I can eat with a mask mow" Jungkook opened his mouth to show the slit. Even though Taehyung laughed at him, he felt slightly disappointed, thinking he couldn't see the man's face again.
"Thank you, paati." Both of them thanked the lady when she gave them two plates.
"How's it?" Taehyung asked expecting.
"It's.. it's delicious. The crust of this donut is crispy, but the dough is soft and well-cooked. And the sauce, it's a perfect combo" Jungkook said while enjoying the dish.
"Yeah. I told you, right? And this is not a donut; it's called Vada. And the green thing is not a sauce, it's called chutney"
"Vada and chutney?" Jungkook confirmed the names, and Taehyung nodded encouragingly.
"I am gonna try this again," Jungkook said while biting the second Vada on his plate. Taehyung smiled content.
They both bid bye to the lady after buying some crackers and biscuits from her shop and returned to the train.
"Don't forget to take those medicines," Taehyung shouted back while walking back to the train. The lady smiled and nodded her head as ok. Jungkook looked at the man in surprise.
He was so kind!
"Now, six more hours. We can survive with these snacks" Taehyung said while plopping in his seat.
"Yeah. I hope so"
"If the train didn't stop anywhere in the middle," Taehyung added with a chuckle.
Yeah. It's a common thing in the Indian railway. Due to the lack of enough tracks in some areas, a train will be blocked for some time to give way for another train. Like, if it has to cross a bridge, there will be only one track on the bridge, and someone has to sacrifice their time!
