The days following the revelation of Aryan’s parentage were a tumultuous whirlwind of emotions.
Sidharth felt as if his world had been turned upside down. The man who had always prided himself on being in control now found himself grappling with a storm of feelings—anger, betrayal, confusion, and an overwhelming sense of loss. How could Shehnaaz have hidden this from him? How could she have kept their son a secret?
Sidharth spent the next few days in a haze of frustration and hurt.
He barely spoke to Shehnaaz, avoiding her presence as much as possible.
The weight of the truth pressed down on him, each glance at Aryan reminding him of what he had missed—years of fatherhood stripped away because of a secret kept by the one person he thought he could trust most.
The anger simmered just below the surface, ready to boil over at the slightest provocation.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the room, Sidharth found himself unable to hold back any longer.
The sight of Aryan laughing in the garden with his maa only fueled his frustration.
How could she be so joyful while Sidharth wrestled with the bitterness of betrayal?
He stormed into the house, the tension radiating off him in waves.
Shehnaaz was preparing dinner, her movements precise yet distracted. She looked up as he entered, the warmth in her eyes quickly replaced by apprehension.
“Sidharth, can we talk?”
she asked, her voice tentative.
“Talk?” he replied, incredulity dripping from his tone. “What is there to talk about, Shehnaaz?
You’ve done enough talking already—about my son, about everything you’ve kept from me.”
She flinched at his words, her heart sinking. “I was going to tell you. I wanted to, but I didn’t know how to say it. I was scared of how you would react.”
“Scared?”
He laughed bitterly, the sound harsh and hollow. “You should have been scared of what it would mean to keep this from me! I could have been there for you, for him.
Instead, I’ve missed out on everything because of your secrecy!”
“I was trying to protect you!
I thought keeping him away would spare you pain. I didn’t want to complicate things!”Shehnaaz shot back, her voice rising as she struggled to contain her emotions. “I thought you’d be angry, and I was right! But I never meant to hurt you, Sidharth.”
“Protect me?”
he shouted, frustration spilling over. “You think hiding my son from me was protecting me?
Do you have any idea how that feels? To find out I’m a father from a crumpled piece of paper, from a child’s innocent excitement?
You robbed me of every moment, Shehnaaz! Every birthday, every laugh, every tear I could have shared with him!”Tears brimmed in Shehnaaz’s eyes as she faced him.
“I didn’t want it to be like this! I thought I was doing the right thing!”she cried, her voice breaking.
“I never wanted to take that away from you. I thought I could shield you from the past.”
“By lying to me?”
His voice dropped, the hurt in his eyes cutting deeper than any accusation. “You took away my choice, my right to be part of his life. You made decisions for both of us without even considering what I wanted.”Silence enveloped them, heavy and suffocating.
Shehnaaz could feel her heart racing, the ache of his words piercing through her defenses. She stepped closer, searching his eyes for any hint of understanding, but all she saw was fury and betrayal.“Sidharth, please…,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “I never meant to hurt you. I thought if I kept him away, I could protect you both from the chaos of the past.”
“Chaos?”
he repeated, his voice low, filled with disbelief.
“You think you can protect me from my own son?Shehnaaz, I deserve to know him, to be a part of his life.
I don’t want to be a stranger to him!”As the reality of their situation settled around them, Shehnaaz felt the weight of her choices bearing down on her.
She took a deep breath, steeling herself.“I know I’ve made mistakes. I know I’ve hurt you. But I also know that Aryan deserves both of his parents, and I want to find a way to make this work, together.”
Sidharth’s expression softened slightly, the anger still there but mingled with something deeper—confusion, longing, a flicker of hope.
“Do you really think we can make this work now?” he asked, his voice quieter, almost vulnerable.
“I want to try,” she replied, stepping closer, her heart aching with sincerity. “I want Aryan to know you, to have you in his life. But I need you to understand why I did what I did. It was never about keeping him from you; it was about trying to protect you both.”
He looked into her eyes, searching for the truth behind her words.
“And what about us, Shehnaaz? Can we really go back to being us after everything?” u did so far.I cannot forgive u for hiding my son away .
