Trent had found himself in an odd situation; although he didn't owe Lauren any commitment, he still felt like he had betrayed her as he watched Lilah stand from his bed, clad in nothing but her panties, as she scurried into his bathroom to rinse her mouth.

Dinner in the city centre ended with Lilah doing her best to swallow him while Trent's mind and heart were elsewhere.

"That was fun," Lilah hummed seductively as she made her way back into Trent's bedroom, crawling back into the bed to join him.

Trent's stomach twisted as he turned to face Lilah, her playful demeanour contrasting sharply with the turmoil brewing inside him. He forced a smile, but it felt hollow. "Yeah, it was... fun," he replied, his voice lacking the enthusiasm he usually felt in such situations.

Lilah settled beside him, her skin glowing in the soft light of the room. She leaned in closer, her lips brushing against his shoulder as she whispered, "You seem a little distracted. Everything okay?"

Trent's mind was racing, thoughts of Lauren flooding his consciousness. He had spent the last few weeks getting to know her, sharing intimate moments that felt genuine. The connection they had was unlike anything he had experienced before, and now here he was, tangled up with someone else.

"Just thinking," he said, trying to keep his tone light. "It's been a long day."

Lilah pouted, her playful nature still intact. "You should focus on the present, Trent. We're here now, and I'm right next to you." She traced her fingers along his arm, trying to draw him back into the moment.

But Trent couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at him. He had always been the type to enjoy casual flings, but with Lauren, it felt different. He didn't want to hurt her, and yet here he was, betraying the unspoken bond they had formed.

"Yeah, you're right," he said, forcing himself to engage. He turned to face her, trying to push thoughts of Lauren aside. "Let's just enjoy the moment."

Lilah smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "That's the spirit! How about we make the most of it?" She leaned in, capturing his lips in a kiss that was both soft and demanding.

Trent kissed her back, but his heart wasn't in it. He felt himself slipping away, mentally retreating to thoughts of Lauren—the way her laughter lit up a room, the warmth of her touch, and the way she made him feel alive.

As Lilah pressed against him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness. This wasn't what he wanted. He wanted the connection, the depth, the feeling of being truly seen and understood.

"Lilah," he said, pulling back slightly, his brow furrowed in thought. "I'm not in the mood."

She looked at him, confusion flickering across her face. "What?"

Trent took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to explain the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside him. "I just... I don't think this is what I want right now," he admitted, his voice steady but laced with uncertainty. "I've been seeing someone, and I don't think this is what I want."
