Trent felt beside himself as he sat in his hotel suite, knowing that Lauren was currently on a date with Devin.

He understood that she was fully within her right to do as she pleased, in the same way that he had when he went to dinner with Lilah, but still, he was fucking livid.

Their previous night together had been perfect, but as he left her earlier that afternoon he felt sick knowing that later on she'd be in the presence of another man.

"Are you going to spend your evening moping around bro?" Marcel asked as he came to sit down beside his older brother.

"I'm not moping around, I'm chilling," Trent mumbled, letting out a deep sigh as he leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees.

"This is textbook moping," Marcel teased motioning over Trent's slumped posture and the frown he wore.

"You're picking Lauren up from her dinner date, if she didn't want you to I don't think you would be. Relax," he continued, noting missing the chance to take a brotherly swipe at Trent.

Marcel knew that if he were in his brother's shoes he'd feel just as sour, but ultimately he had been warned by their eldest brother Tyler about having his cake and eating it.

Trent shot Marcel a glare, but the corners of his mouth twitched in reluctant amusement. "It's not that simple, man. I just... I don't like the idea of her with anyone else. If Devin didn't want her he wouldn't have asked her to go out with him."

"I hate to rub it in, but Lauren doesn't seem like a woman who would struggle to get any man she wants. I know he's not that wise, but Ty did tell you." Marcel shrugged.

"I know he did and I know I fucked up, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow. I feel like a bitch sitting here waiting for the girl I want while she's at dinner with someone else." Trent stressed.

Marcel leaned back, crossing his arms as he regarded his brother. "Look, I get it. You're feeling possessive, and that's normal. But you can't just sit here and stew in your own jealousy. You've got to make a move, Trent. If you want her, you need to show her that."

Trent shook his head, frustration bubbling up. "And what? Just swoop in and act like I'm not bothered? That's not me, Marcel. I don't want to be that guy who tries to undermine her date. She deserves to have fun, and if that means going out with Devin, then so be it."

"Then why are you sitting here looking like a lost puppy?" Marcel asked.

Across town, Lauren let out a breath she'd been holding as she set foot in the restaurant where she was meeting Devin.

Smoothing her hands over her jeans as she followed behind the waitress towards the table when her eyes landed on Devin sitting there, looking effortlessly cool in a fitted black shirt and jeans. He flashed her a charming smile, and for a moment, she felt a flutter of excitement.
