I never expected to fall for my best friend, we had been best friends for years on end. Never once did I think we could possibly have feelings for each other, but we did. So here's our story...

"Mom, have you seen my favorite pair of skinny jeans? I can't seem to find them." "Check the basement." I ran down the stairs leading to the basement. There sitting on the washer was my favorite pair of jeans. I quickly slid off my shorts, and replaced them with my jeans. "Hey, mom. I'm hanging with Danny today, see you later" "have fun, doll." Danny and I decided to meet at the mall. Our favorite place to hang. "Hey" I say with a large smile among my face. "Hey, ready?" we walk into the crowded mall and head straight for Hot Topic, my favorite store in the mall. I run straight towards the nail polish and dive In looking for the black polish I like so much. "You're so weird" Danny says with a minor smirk. I gasped dramatically and crossed my arms and began to pout like a 3 year old who dropped her ice cream cone. "You hurt my feelings" "Oh come on, if I buy your nail polish will you forgive me, Liz?" I quickly perk up and nod my head yes. He pays for it and we go grab a cup of coffee and sit down to talk. "So, have you heard from your dad?" about 4 months ago my dad had left my mom and I for a woman he had gotten pregnant. "Nope, and I don't want to. What about you? got your test results back from the doctor yet?" "No" he states dryly. Tears fill his eyes and he turns away from me, trying his best to hide his pain from me. "Danny, I'm sorry" I say quietly as I lay my hand on his clunched up hand. "Don't be, lets just go" as we get up to leave, his phone began to ring. He slightly hesitates before answering it. "Hello?" He walked away, but shortly came back with a smile among his face. "I don't have cancer, Liz. I'm okay" "Oh my god, that is amazing" I say as I jump up into his arms giving him a bone crushing hug. "Liz you're hurting me" he says as he pushes my body away from his. "Oh you are such a major wuss, anyway. wanna get outta here, like go to my place?" "sure"
