Camila's POV:
There is one word that you should know and cherish throughout your life. And it's the word moment. Definitions include 'an exact point in time,' 'a particular stage in a course of events' and 'a very brief period of time.' It's essentially what makes life worthwhile because life is composed of a lot of moments. A lot of little moments and a lot of big moments.
You would think that the big moments would be the most memorable ones, and they are, but not as much as the little moments. The moments that didn't seem like such a big deal turned out to be the most important ones. The little moments all add up to equal the big moments, an equation that you should figure out now instead of later.
The day that you meet someone, the day that you find yourself loving them, and the day that you tell them. All of these little moments in my life, added up to one of the biggest moments in my life, the day we got married. Today. And it all started with the day that we met:
1999, 5 Years Old, Third Person POV
Ally was sad. Everyone had someone sitting at a table with them except for her. It's been a week since she started Kindergarten and no one had sat with her. She understood that though, it was a common theme. No one ever really played with her or even talked to her. No one but her neighbor Lauren. However, the aforementioned girl had been sitting with that pretty girl Normani lately. So Ally was back to being alone. She hadn't yet made any friends and it made her quite sad.
To take her mind off of her sadness, she got up to get a coloring book off of the nearby bookshelf. She got a Scooby Doo one, which made her happy instantly as she loved him. She picked a pretty brown crayon from the box once she sat back down and began coloring. A few minutes into her activity, her teacher spoke out to the class.
"Class," Mrs. James spoke, "Can I have your attention please?" Ally looked up and couldn't help but notice the tiny girl standing next to the woman. She was clutching the lady's hand with her right and holding a book in her left. She didn't look as excited as one would think. Instead, she looked overly bored.
"Class this is Camila Cabello," she gestured towards the girl with her free hand but it seemed to fall onto deaf ears as most of the class went back to their previous activity. Regardless, Ally remained staring at the girl. "She's a last minute addition to the class and I would like you all to make her feel welcomed," she continued.
"You can either sit with Ally," gesturing towards the slightly taller girl in the back, "or you can sit at one of the empty tables." Ally was excited at the possibility of finally having someone to sit with her. She smiled politely at the smaller girl who made her way over to her table.
However, Ally's smile soon faded when she realized that the girl had walked pass the table to sit at the empty one next to her. Ally lowered her head due to the obvious rejection and resumed coloring in her picture with the previously abandoned crayon. She, however, continued to steal glances at the girl sitting at the table next to her.
Ally thought that the girl was very pretty. After while, she found herself focusing more on the girl than coloring her picture of Scooby and Shaggy. The girl who's name she remembered as being Carmilla? Camilla? She wasn't entirely quite sure of what Mrs. James actually said because she was only focused on the girl who now sat at the table next to her.
The girl was looking at a book that she guessed was the one that was in her hand when she entered. Her skin was a color that reminded Ally of her graham crackers. She had brown hair that was in two little pig tails, it reminded her of the hair on her Cabbage Patch Kid. The girl had on a pair of black pants and a red collared sweater, which reminded her of her father's work clothes except she had a little black bow attached to her collar. Crookedly at that.
