The drive back was silent.
Not awkward, but... peaceful.
The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over Isla Nublar that enhanced the bronze hue of Azriel's tanned skin. She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened in the suite earlier, raising a hand to her lips and touching her fingers to them. She smiled to herself. Everything felt... better somehow. Brighter, lighter—as if the fact she was now theirs, and they were hers filled a gap inside her that she hadn't even known existed before.
Everything ached. Her legs, her back, her neck—it was a good ache, one that left her wanting more. Six times. They'd brought her over the edge six times together before Azriel focused all his attention on Yasmina, giving Brooklynn time to catch a breath. But the second she had caught it, she was right down there between Yaz's legs with him, while the athlete wriggled and squealed under their touch.
Pulling up in front of the camp, Azriel killed the engine before rubbing his jaw. He rested his hands languidly on the wheel afterwards. Yasmina glanced at him, then turned to Brooklynn with a smile. "How're you feeling?"
"Amazing," was all Brooklynn could say.
Chuckling lightly, Azriel turned in his seat to look at her. "That's good, though not quite what she meant," he told her as Brooklynn leaned in. "How are you feeling about letting the others know?"
It took her a moment to decide. "Honestly? I don't care if they know. I want to be with you. Both of you." Yasmina reached back, lightly brushing her thumb along Brooklynn's cheek, and the vlogger leaned into it. "You're mine, and I'm yours."
"Is that a proposal? 'Cause it sounds like a proposal."
Brooklynn made a face at her. "Oh, you wish."
With a smile, Yasmina hopped out of the truck, Azriel and Brooklynn following suit. They each grabbed what they'd scavenged from the back, finding the others already back at camp. Sammy was sewing a sail from the felt, while Kenji was listening intently to Ben and Darius telling him of their escape from an Allosaurus. So, it wasn't just their group which had some excitement. Brooklynn climbed the ladder, giggling as someone kissed her ankle. She turned slightly to look, seeing Yasmina one rung beneath her. Shaking her head, she reached the top and grinned.
When they tossed their bags onto the table, the others eyed them curiously. It took Sammy less than a second to spot the marks, suspicion flickering across her face. Blushing a little, Brooklynn collapsed onto the couch, while Yaz let down her hair, running her fingers through it before plopping down beside her. Brooklynn fell sideways, turning onto her back, and draped her legs over Yasmina's thighs, resting her hands comfortably on her own chest.
Azriel continued unpacking, meticulously jotting down each item in the inventory book. "No sat phone?" Kenji and Sammy shook their heads, explaining that the only one they'd found was beyond repair. "A pity. We couldn't find one in the hotel, either."
Darius and Ben chimed in, mentioning busting into a control room near the river but had only found a few batteries for the walkies. Nodding, Azriel rubbed the back of his neck before crossing his arms. "Oh, and I nabbed that shower from the camp," Sammy said. "It's a little beat up, but I figured you and Brooklynn could fix her right up."
Yasmina patted Brooklynn's thigh pointedly, prompting a laugh from the vlogger as she remembered their earlier conversation. Azriel shot them an amused look before thanking Sammy, adding that he'd tackle the shower tomorrow morning.
"What's this about an Allosaurus attack?" Az inquired, prompting Ben and Darius to dive into their story of a narrow escape, describing how Bumpy had frightened the predator away just in time.
