It's a standalone part, and totally out of the ongoing context.

Just a Woonmyungz' one-shot for Halloween (though published late due to some issues).

Woonhak sat on the couch, the glow of the TV flickering on his face as he scrolled through his phone. It was Halloween night, the one night a year when he could let his weird side out and not get side-eyed for it. He had been planning to stay in — he wasn't much for costumes or spooky parties — but that all changed when Jaehyun knocked on his door.

Jaehyun was the kind of friend that made everything feel effortless. They had known each other since high school, but tonight, there was something different about the way he looked at Woonhak.

Maybe it was the pumpkin lights on the porch or the full moon outside, but it felt like everything was finally aligning. They'd always joked about how great it would be to have a Halloween together, but somehow, they had never actually done it. Tonight, though, Jaehyun was there, looking at him with an intensity that made Woonhak's heart race.

"Hey, you wanna get out of here?" The elder asked, his eyes lighting up with mischief.

The questioned one blinked, suddenly aware of how quiet the room had become. The TV was still on, but the noise felt distant now, like it didn't matter.

"Uh, what do you mean? You're not talking about trick-or-treating, are you?" Woonhak replied with a teasing smile.

Jaehyun chuckled, leaning in closer. "I was thinking something a little more... adventurous. How about a midnight walk through the woods? Just us and the stars. Halloween style."

Woonhak grinned. "That sounds insane. Let’s do it."

The night air was crisp as the two of them walked down the empty street, their footsteps the only sound breaking the silence. The houses around them were lit up with pumpkins and eerie decorations, but it was the quiet of the night that felt like a blanket around them.

Jaehyun's hand brushed against his, and without thinking, Woonhak intertwined his fingers with his. The contact sent a spark of warmth through his body, and he looked over at Jaehyun, his heart skipping a beat. For the first time, he realised that Jaehyun wasn't just his best friend — he was something more. Something he hadn't been brave enough to admit before.

"Do you ever wonder if this is all just... meant to happen?" Woonhak asked, his voice low and hesitant, almost as if speaking to the night itself.

Jaehyun raised an eyebrow, but there was no teasing in his gaze. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, us. This. Tonight. Feels... like everything just clicked into place, you know?" Woonhak's voice faltered a little, but Jaehyun just smiled at him, his grip tightening around the younger's hand.

"Yeah. I get it. It’s like we’ve been waiting for this night our whole lives."

The words hung in the air between them, heavy with meaning, and for a moment, Woonhak felt like he was living in a dream — a perfect, surreal dream. The stars above seemed to shine just for them, the world around them fading into something magical.

They walked for hours, talking about everything and nothing, laughing at the dumbest things, and simply enjoying each other's presence. When they reached the edge of the woods, where the trees stretched up like tall shadows, they stopped.
