Eira P.O.V.
The house or should I say mansion was not large, but huge. Amira and I are used to seeing expensive houses and well-off families, but I never expected Luke's parents to be this loaded. It was on par with Blaze and Camilia's home. The front of the building had a large garden and fountain in the front. The driveway was paved out in a spiral design that would take up way too much space for a normal home. We pulled up to the building and almost instantly a handful of servants came out and grabbed the bags from the opened truck.
"You guys are loaded." Amira said almost in disbelief as she watched a worker walk past her window with her bag in hand.
"Not any more than Blaze and Camilia are. Besides, it's my parents' money not ours." Luke said in a sour tone as he headed off the keys to an older worker.
"Come on, let me show you around!" Matthew said excitedly as he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the car. The gesture made me remember how he held my hand in the car making my face reddened instantly. I made a slight nodding gesture at his words.
"Okay." I said. Matthew continued to hold my hand as he guided Amira and I around the house as Erik and Luke followed after us.
"That's the kitchen, dining room." Matthew pointed quickly before guiding me along a narrow hallway. He showed us several rooms naming them as either his, Erik's or Luke's.
"And this your roo-." His voice was overshadowed by a more feminine one.
"I'm so glad you boys managed to come back safely!" An older woman spoke, opening her arms. When she saw no one was going to hug her she quickly dropped her hands.
"That is Luke's mother." Matthew said, his cheerfulness disappearing. I thought it was strange he didn't also say she was his mother, but I left it alone for another time.
"It's nice to see you too, mother." Luke said with little affection in his voice. I didn't know much about the guys' relationship with their family, so it was a surprise to see it was this bad.
Luke's mother scanned her eyes over her son despite the love filled look she had in her eyes. I noticed her smile had tightened slightly at Luke's cold tone. Before the room had a chance to go unbearingly awkward from the tense relationships in the room Amira spoke.
"Hello, my name is Amira and that is my sister Eira. It's so nice to meet you... I'm sorry I didn't get your name Mrs.?" Amira asked with an innocent smile. She probably already caught on to the tense relationship between the guys and Luke's mother. Luke's mother moved her eyes from Luke to stare at Amira. Her eyes scanned Amira quickly going from head to toe. A light emotion of disapproval flashed through her eyes.
"How rude of me not to introduce myself. My name is Petrica. I'm Luke's and Matthew's mother." Petricia said with a polite smile. "Will you be staying? Or is this just a temporary visit? It's probably not the best time right now since my boys are getting settled back home and I'm sure they would love to spend time with their families." She said, landing a hard gaze on both of us. Before Amira had the chance to make a snarky retort Luke spoke once again.
"No mother, they will be staying with us during the duration of our stay. We consider them friends, so please show them the same respect you would show me." Luke matched Petricia's hard gaze as he spoke. My heart shook a little at the fact that Luke thought highly enough of us to ask his mother to show us the same respect she would give her son. In my brain I knew he shouldn't need to say anything, and that respect should have been given voluntarily, but the action itself warmed my heart.
"Now if you would excuse us, we need to get both these girls settled into their temporary rooms." Luke continued moving his hand to the small of Amira's back to guide her past his mother. Matthew did the same with me. I purposely made sure not to look Petricia in the eye in fear of what I might see if I did look. Amira would have looked, but I didn't have the courage to look.
