Her body wasn't perfect. A sag here, a scar there.

She worried what he would think but when he slowly unzipped her, he saw only beauty.

Author's POV

She grasped his coat more tightly around her entirely drenched body, the soft clink of her glass bangles echoed through the dimly lit hotel room.

Because as soon as they took a few steps under the rain, they stumbled upon a humble hotel. She was dead sure that Arjun would scoff at the idea of even entering such a place, but her sudden sneeze changed everything.

And after a couple of moments followed in the lonely room when she whirled around, her gaze clashed with his and before she knew it;

Her eyes slipped to his white shirt that glistened with tiny, heavy raindrops, revealing the sculpted lines of his chest and leaving a little to the imagination. As he forcefully draped his coat over her and asserted,

"I'm giving you my coat not because I doubt your strength or consider you fragile, I'm giving you this because it's my responsibility to ensure your comfort first and I don't see the point of having anything including my precious belongings, if it can't be of use to my wife and children."

And when she looked up, she found him already watching her.

The air hummed with the awareness.

She tried to focus on her movements and not on the powerful masculine form whose muscles were sleek and sculpted, all sinuous lines and strength collided.

Her eyes drifted up to his face and the dark sweep of his lashes against his faired cheeks.

She swallowed past the dryness in her throat when her eyes fell on his firm, sensual lips but an ache took the hold of her heart when she recalled how his lips remained unmoved beneath hers under the rain.

He took a step forward and she took a step backward.

Something tortuous akin to self consciousness flickered through her gaze and a distressed breath escaped through her trembling lips.

Her back met with the wall with a soft thud, its chill caressed her skin, coaxing a soft, husky whisper from her lips.

"I know I don't fit your ideal cause my body bears scar-

"Would the trees look beautiful without its texture line? Would the beach calm us down without its waves?"

"And moreover, in my eyes, you're perfect just the way you are, Aadrika and even if someday I ever see a flaw of yours, I'd say my eyes are the flawed ones."

And then he held her so softly that she wished he would never let her go.

"Then in the rain and still now?" Her mortification deepened, her hair locks fell like a curtain, hiding her burning cheeks from shyness as if the very touch of his eyes had set her aflame.
