By the time the bell rang it was already afternoon, all the students were rushing out of the institution, so eager to get home. Jungkook had two candies in his hand, his huge bag on his shoulders, and a cap hiding his face from the scorching sun. He usually walks home by foot because his home is really close.

Also he has been living here since he was born, he knows every route to wherever. Both his parents were teachers in his own school but after the birth of his little sister who is eight months old now, she was on maternity leave. Since his father was his homeroom teacher, all his classmates showed extra friendliness towards him. Jungkook was still too young to figure out that some polite behavior towards him wasn't as polite and nice as he thought.

Hopping towards the gate while tasting the candy, Jungkook's round eyes fell at a familiar figure, standing by the gate, eyes plainly looking at the road. It has been half a year since Taehyung got shifted into his class. By now they have been good friends, according to Jungkook.

He can't say the same from Taehyung's perspective.

Despite his appearance and girly face, his personality was quite different. He was hard to talk to, he wasn't as friendly as his appearance. He surely wasn't someone who'd play with Jungkook in the lunch break; rather he'd silently watch him, sitting at a bench by the playground.

Every time Jungkook insisted that he join, he refused each time.

While a conversation is going between, it's always Jungkook who keeps it alive and tries to keep it going on. Taehyung would sometimes utter some brief sentences to reply. And for the rest of the time he'd just listen to Jungkook talking nonstop. Even though nothing about Jungkook was a secret to him but for Jungkook, apart from the certain amount of information he was given in their first meeting, everything was still a mystery.

With a bright smile on his face, Jungkook ran towards Taehyung.

"Taehyung! Good afternoon!" Jungkook greeted him politely at first before getting into the main point. Because one thing he surely knows about Taehyung is that he is very disciplined and follows etiquette very tightly.

"Good morning." He heard Taehyung murmuring under his breath, it somehow looked like he had a frown on his face but when Jungkook gave it extra thought he was proven wrong. Taehyung had his usual calm and soft face.

The sun ray was directly falling on Taehyung's face, his brown was glowing bright, the golden view helped Jungkook to notice his little facial details. How Taehyung had long eyelashes, his eyes were sharp yet calming, he had long hair that almost reached his neck. For a second Jungkook thought he was watching an actor on television.

His mouth was hung open.

"Woah, Taehyungie.. You look like an actor." Now Taehyung was definitely frowning, he had his eyebrows knotted and hurriedly looked away. Jungkook was surprised by his actions. He hurriedly wiggled towards him, Taehyung still was a bit shorter than him.

"Do you want to be an actor when you grow up? You're so handsome, Taehyungie! If you become one, I'll be your number one fan! I'll watch all of your dramas and movies!" Jungkook kept on talking without noticing how Taehyung was frowning by his words.

"My parents wouldn't like to see me achieving such a profession."

"Huh?" Jungkook was dumbfounded, his little eight years old brain couldn't catch Taehyung's hard words. Taehyung himself by then had a clue that the other boy got in trouble to actually understand him. Thus he once again opened his mouth to give him an easy explanation.

"My parents don't like acting."

"But I'm talking about you." Even though Jungkook just asked this innocently, his round curious eyes gave Taehyung the clarification that they didn't have a deep meaning but his mind was puzzled though he didn't let Jungkook see it.

"I also don't like acting." Jungkook let out a sigh in disappointment as if the world had just missed a chance to show everyone a gem.

"But you're so handsome, Taehyungie. You should get a medal!" Jungkook chirped, his eyes began to spark again.

"Model." Taehyung corrected him.

"Yes, model!" Even though this time it was correctly spelled, the pronunciation was very poor. That led Taehyung to pronounce it for him once again.

"Model." Taehyung sounded like an Englishman while on the other hand Jungkook was looking like a toddler who was just learning to utter some words correctly.

"Mod- madel- medel... Modal?"

"Model."

"Modul?"

"Leave it." Jungkook could only flash him a foolish smile.

"You speak English so well."

"My mother is half American and half korean."

"Your mother's first half born was in korea and the other half was born in America? Wow! How is it even possible! You're her son. Are you also a magician? Can you show me some magic? Wait, I'm also your friend! Can you teach me some tricks??" Jungkook's eyes were big and sparkling very brightly. He was still too innocent, his mind couldn't process something complicated.

He had the body of a big kid but had the brain of a toddler. Not to mention how bad he is in studies as well. At first Taehyung hated his company, he was too loud. Even his parents didn't like him, they have already forbidden him from talking to him. Taehyung only had the permission to talk with the brilliant students in his class and unfortunately Jungkook was below the average student.

Whenever Jungkook tried to approach him he'd try to ignore his existence each time but Jungkook wasn't someone to give up easily. He totally invaded his personal space and on top of that his desk was right behind him. The boy wouldn't stop asking for help. He'd always run if he couldn't understand anything. Taehyung always had Jungkook glued to him all the time.

The boy would even follow him up to the moon.

He had a pair of charming eyes, how they sparkled whenever he found something amusing, how they would grow bigger if something surprising happened, and everything that aroused Taehyung's interest. The boy was totally opposite of him, he was leading a totally different life but as time went by Taehyung wanted to spend more time with him. He liked his very loud presence, he loved to hear him talking about anything, any nonsense.

He loved to watch Jungkook hopping around him. He loved his company even though all of them were totally something he hated all the time. Even if someone else did it he'd still get annoyed but for Jungkook, he loved all of them.

But his young self was still too young to realize that their friendship was turning into puppy love.

"That's not how it works. I'll explain it to you when you grow up a bit."

"What's wrong with now explaining. I can understand everything when you explain it to me." Jungkook said, pouting.

"It's too complicated. You won't understand now."

"Okay fine! Just forget about it. Why are they still here? Ahjussi haven't come yet?" Jungkook asked out of curiosity, he also looked around to spot a familiar car but he couldn't find one.

"No. He's probably on the way."

Jungkook's eyes sparkled up at the sudden idea that popped into his mind.

"Let's go to your house together!" Jungkook chirped, when Taehyung looked at his excited face he couldn't utter a word against him.

"I know all the routes! So don't worry! We won't get lost."
