Olivia got up with a groan. She had the most terrible headache. She looked around. With a start, she realized that this wasn't her room. Where was she? All around there was yellow. So much yellow. It smelled awful. Like mildew. And dust. The carpet was yellow. The walls were covered in yellow wallpaper. And the only noise was the quiet hum of the yellow fluorescent lights above her head. It was also pretty cold to be wearing a nightgown. She shivered. She slowly walked forward. She stepped on something. It sounded like paper. She looked down, and indeed saw a piece of paper. She picked it up. It was blank. She flipped it over, and saw a letter written in someone's messy handwriting.

To whom it may concern, I've been wandering here for quite a while. I also don't know for sure how long it's been. There are no clocks, no windows. No way to tell what time it is. So, it could have been weeks. But probably not, considering I'm still alive. I did happen to have a week's supply of food on me. I was planning on going out of town. But when I walked through the door at the store, I ended up here. Now, if anyone is reading this, you're probably wondering where the fuck you are. The short answer is: Nowhere good. You are in a place they call the backrooms. Approximately 600 million square miles of randomly segmented hallways and empty rooms. I mean, I'm only guessing. It could be even bigger. I tried to draw a map, but I only gave myself a headache. One more thing: There are things in the Backrooms. Things that want you dead. Or worse. If you make too much noise, they will find you. And I assure you, they will kill you. If you get lucky enough, get out of here before that happens. And Good luck.

600 million square miles of random hallways and empty rooms? And monsters? Olivia thought. How was she ever going to get out of this place? Piper had been right. This place did exist. And she needed to leave before she died. She wandered the empty halls for what felt like years but was probably only minutes. Everything was the same. No way for her to tell where she had been. After wandering a little further, her legs couldn't carry her anymore. Along with the last bit of her sanity, her will crumpled to dust and she fell to her knees on the yellow carpet crying. Only one thought went through her head. Over and over. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow. Nothing but mono yellow.
