"I'm going to ask him to marry me," Zayn announced with a confident smile, leaning back in his chair, as if he'd just shared something as casual as ordering a coffee.
Niall, who had been mid-sip of his drink, nearly choked, looking at Zayn with an amused grin. "You do remember you've been married for two years, right?" he quipped, raising an eyebrow.
Zayn shrugged, unfazed. "So what? We can remarry—do it the right way this time. None of this rushed, fake wedding nonsense," he replied, his gaze softening as if picturing something he'd been dreaming of for a while.
Harry tilted his head thoughtfully. "Honestly, it makes sense. We finally have a break from touring—a proper hiatus. You two could actually have a real wedding this time, something memorable," he said with a grin. "And, you know, actually mean your vows."
Liam nodded in agreement, adding, "And have your family there, friends too. No managers, no cameras—just the people who matter."
Zayn let out a soft sigh, a glimmer of nerves crossing his usually composed face. "Only problem is, I have no idea how I'd propose. I mean, what would I even say? How do you propose to someone you've already technically married?" He rubbed the back of his neck, a mix of nervous excitement filling his eyes.
Niall leaned forward, an idea sparking in his mind. "Louis has been back home in Doncaster for the past week, right? Visiting his mum and sisters?"
Zayn nodded, his interest piqued.
"So, why not propose there, at home?" Liam suggested. "Make it something special, something familiar to the two of you. Not flashy or big—just something that means something to both of you."
Harry chimed in, his voice softer but enthusiastic. "Yeah! You could recreate your first real date, back when you both finally admitted your feelings. Bring back all those memories—all the reasons you fell in love in the first place."
Zayn's face lit up as he listened, a smile slowly spreading across his lips. He could already picture Louis's reaction—a blend of surprise, disbelief, and that heart-stopping smile Louis only got when he was genuinely happy.
"Alright, but I need your help," Zayn admitted, his cheeks coloring with a slight blush. "I want this to be perfect. No cheesy clichés, just... real."
Niall grinned, clapping Zayn on the shoulder. "Mate, we're going to make sure Louis has no idea what's coming. This'll be a proposal he'll never forget."
For the next hour, the four of them huddled together, tossing ideas back and forth for the perfect proposal. Harry suggested a candlelit dinner at the cozy little café where they'd once snuck away from the paparazzi for a quiet moment together. Liam remembered a secluded lake nearby, where they used to escape for some peace after a long day—just the two of them, sitting on the dock, talking for hours under the stars.
"Maybe start the day somewhere nostalgic," Liam suggested, his tone thoughtful. "Take him to all the places that mean something to both of you. End it at the lake, where you could set up candles, maybe even play some of his favorite songs."
"And the ring," Niall added with a grin. "Make sure you get him a ring that'll knock him off his feet. Something that shows how serious you are."
Zayn's excitement was building with every detail. He could feel his heart race as he imagined Louis's face, that look of utter surprise and happiness. He knew it would be worth every nerve, every moment of planning.
That night, Zayn returned to his home, pulling out a small notepad and jotting down each idea. He was completely lost in thought, picturing every detail from the morning until the moment he'd finally kneel down and ask Louis to marry him again.
