two.

"Go Sweetly!" Amber shouts into her cupped hands as she watches the football players tackle one another for the brown ball in the middle of the field.

The lights from over the field blind her vision for a moment as she turns to the audience to help them hype the highschool football team, her eyes darting between each face before they find the one she's looking for.

She waves lightly at Quinn who had been sitting not too far from the band who loudly plays the school's anthem.

   "Defense! Sweetly Defense!"

Amber cheers pushing her arms in an upward motion to hype the audience with her cheermates who take turns thrusting their pom-poms around.

"Do you not get tired repeating the same cheers?"

Amber had just finished the game off, her face glistening with sweat as she makes her way towards Quinn who was sweet enough to wait for her outside the locker rooms.

She shakes her head, shrugging. "Not really. It's just routine, I don't have to think about it like I do with school. Makes it easier." Quinn nods along, shoving his hands into his pockets as he looks ahead of him in thought.

Amber bites the inside of her cheek as her grip tightens on her duffle bag. "So what are your plans tonight? My house is free if you want to come over- if that's not totally weird!" Quinn chuckles at Amber's quick ending. "I have to give Summer's homework to her tonight. But I'll see you tomorrow night, right?"

Amber's shoulder drops as she stares at him. Woah she is such an idiot. Amber quickly nods, with a wave of her hand once she notices that Quinn had stopped walking with her, a look crossing his face. "No-no that's fine. Bye, Quinn." Amber quickly gets out before she turns on her foot to head the other direction.

She wasn't about to walk the same way as him in an awkward silence after being rejected that badly by him.

   What was she thinking?

He didn't see her the way she sees him, of course not. She was his last resort to a date for homecoming just like he is to her.

I mean she practically begged him to go this year. Right? She pushes those ugly thoughts out of her head once she reaches her car, taking a deep breath to relax herself before starting it.

Amber rushes around her room at the last minute, her radio playing a mix CD she had made exactly for this moment blaring through the speakers as she quickly jumps out of her pajamas. "You're too loud!"

Amber hears a shout from outside her bedroom door causing her to only turn up the music louder in hopes to drown out the groaning from her younger brother who begins pounding on the door. "Leave me alone!" Amber sticks her tongue out at the door before turning the music down to a reasonable sound.

Grabbing her dress from the closet, Amber admires it from the hanger; the dark green cascading down the dress with hints of jewels lining the neck.

It was perfect for her. Most people assume her favorite color is green- with the green car, green dress, green basically everything but to Amber she knows what colors suit her best and green just happens to be that color.

"Someone's here for you Amber!" Pounding on the door appears once more as Amber finishes up applying her mascara, her lips puckered as she offers her mirror one last pose before heading out her room. "Coming! Jeez you are so annoying." Amber groans out as she makes her way down the stairs, rolling her eyes at her brother who sticks his tongue out at her whilst pressing his finger to his nose.

Amber's eyes find Quinn standing there by the door, his hands folded behind him as he's already staring at her, his foot lightly tapping the wood flooring. "You look.. Amazing."

Amber's cheeks warm at the compliment as she tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear out of nervousness. She tries her best to push the thoughts that bile up in her mind about him seeing Summer last night.

She knows that Summer wouldn't do anything but the thought of him trying to pull a move nauseated the girl. She reaches the bottom of the stairs, ready to walk out the open door with Quinn who extends his arm to allow her to go first. "You clean up well." Amber grins, turning to take another look at him under the moonlight.

Amber hates how he makes her emotions out of control. Quinn grins back, playfully bowing slightly. "Anything for you." Her heart skips a beat.
