A Long Walk

The survivors continues to walk in the middle of the night. Some of them are already tired, especially Aljohn who's complaining a lot.

"Can... Can we take a rest maybe?" Aljohn complained. "My legs are going to give up!"

"Don't be whiney there, bud! Our exhaustion has a great price when we get to the evacuation center!" Jumbert replied, with enthusiasm in his tone.

"I hate to disagree with you, Bert-Dude, but Aljohn was right." Cyra spoke up.

Reymar shows a thumbs up. "Yup. I mean, we can't just go to Nevada in one day."

"However, we can't find any safe shelters to sleep in." Tintin said.

Ezra yawned a bit, to which Nyx pet his hair.

"Don't worry, we'll find a safe shelter soon, Ezra." Assured by Nyx.

Ezra slowly nodded and sighed. "S-sorry... I haven't stay up this late before..."

"Oh, no. You did last night..." Nyx reminded him about the time he felt upset after thinking he caused trouble on Reymar, Aljohn, CJ and Joshua.

"Y-yeah, I am. But I mean, I haven't walked at night like this." Ezra shyly replied.

Nyx nodded and shrugged. "Make sense..."

"Don't you guys have any other weapons aside from his shotgun?" Aljohn asked.

As they continued to walk, they all arrived in a park where there's a playground for children. Necro children were also there, about seventeen of them, each with different clothings and genders. One of them is a young girl, still holding a red balloon while shambling around aimlessly.

The survivors sneak slowly, hoping to avoid the "kids". But, Kevin whom following at the back, accidentally stepped on a toy phone which made some kiddie music after his shoe accidentally pressed one of its buttons. This alerted the young Necro and started shrieking at them.

"B-Bloody hell!" Kevin exclaimed.

"Oh, come on, Kevin!" Jumbert glared at him before shooting two of the juvenile Volatiles.

One of them is already a Snare as it dangles its spiked tongue around.

"O-oh, golly!" Kahrel exclaimed.

Nyx and Ezra bashed some of the kids' heads.

The juvenile Snare suddenly shoots its tongue, causing it to plunged right through Kevin's chest. This made him gasped as the Snare pulled its tongue back, leaving a huge hole in his chest.

"Honey!!" Kahrel shouted as she quickly ran towards Kevin and catches him before he could fall on the ground.

Kevin started gurgling his own blood as it started gushing out of his throat.

Kahrel started sobbing and tried to stop the bleeding.

"H-honey... Please, don't give up..." Kahrel cried out.
