Shriya's POV (19 yrs old)

I was lost in these thoughts when my parents called me out. Okay, Shriya, you have to go out there. It's okay, I told myself. So, I left my room. Across from my bedroom is the master bedroom, and at a 90-degree angle from there is the hall. There's a door between our bedrooms and the hall, so as I was walking, I first saw my uncle. Just as I was about to greet him, from the corner of my eye, I saw a muscular arm resting on the couch. I'm going to lose my mind, I thought. I greeted my uncle, who was very sweet, and then he pointed out his sons. And wow—I had to turn my head, and I literally forgot to breathe when I saw Abhishek. He looked amazing, and his smile—wow. His eyes captivated me, but I quickly pulled myself out of my little daydream. I greeted everyone and sat as far away from him as possible, sneaking glances at him.

At one point, my mom asked me to order food. And then she told me to sit next to him to place the order. I nearly had a heart attack! After we ordered, we all ate, and it was so awkward for me. I even started taking random pictures of the sky to distract myself—internally facepalming at how silly I was being. After that, they all went to meet another family friend, so I finally had a chance to calm down. It was a lot to handle!

Later, we had plans to go to dinner, and my dad and I were going to meet everyone else there. When we arrived at the restaurant, they hadn't arrived yet, so I took a seat at the corner, hoping I wouldn't have to look at him. But when they came, guess where he sat? Right across from me. Great, I thought. My whole body felt warm even though the air conditioning was on. I kept stealing glances, and he occasionally made eye contact, but then we'd both look away. This was how dinner went.

Afterward, we decided to grab dessert nearby. And guess what? When we all got into the car, I assumed my mom would be coming along, but instead, Abhishek and his brother took the back seat. I looked up at the sky and asked, 'Why, God??' Soon we reached the dessert place, but it was crowded, so only Abhishek, his brother, and I went in to order. Once we got our food, Abhay, his brother, took it to our parents, leaving me and Abhishek sitting beside each other. Poor guy had a cold from the weather change, so we chatted a bit until Abhay came back. Then, it was time for them to leave. Before they went, we took some photos, and I couldn't help but shake Abhishek's hand before saying goodbye. I know it sounds silly, but this was the first time I felt so drawn to someone—well, other than my celebrity crushes!

The photo—oh my god, I couldn't stop looking at it. I kept wondering how he grew so tall in just five years. I spent the whole day blushing, staring at those pictures. Oh, and did I tell you? We exchanged numbers! Yes, we did. The next day, he had a flight in the evening, and in the morning, I really wanted to text him first. We had a small conversation, and that was it. But in the back of my mind, my dad's words kept swirling around—how he wanted me to go to the USA for my master's because there are people we know who can take care of me. I understand his concerns since I'm his only child, and especially a girl.

I had initially planned on doing my master's in South Korea because I'm so in love with Korean culture and the country's beauty—despite the issues with racism. But my uncle suggested I come to New Jersey, and for some reason, I actually started to consider it. Not because my uncle suggested it or because the U.S. is stunning, but because part of me hoped I might get the chance to spend more time with Abhishek. I know there's probably no way he'd ever feel the same about me, especially since I'm not exactly skinny, but who knows? Maybe there's a tiny chance. I haven't decided yet—let's see where this goes!

Hello my dear beautiful roses, So... what do you think she'll do??

Will she go to USA??? does she want to test the little chance she has??
