The night had settled into a heavy silence, the only sound being the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze. Tysha’s thoughts were still tangled in confusion. Her eyes had briefly caught a shadow earlier, and the question had he seen something? gnawed at her. But before she could process the thought further, Eunji’s voice broke through.

“I’m sorry, but I’ve just received a call,” Eunji said, her face turning pale. “There’s a family emergency. I need to leave.”

Tysha’s heart skipped. “Eunji, what’s going on? Is everything okay?”

Eunji’s gaze flickered for a moment, but she quickly composed herself. “I can’t talk about it right now. I need to go. Please stay safe, both of you.” With that, she turned and hurried down the path, disappearing into the night.

Tysha stared after her, a sense of unease lingering in the air. There was something off about the way Eunji had rushed off, but before she could dwell on it further, Taehyung’s calm voice pulled her from her thoughts.

“Let’s get some air,” he said, already heading toward the gates of the mansion.

Tysha followed, her mind still spinning from everything that had happened. As they stepped outside into the rain, it began to pour heavily, the sky opening up in a sudden downpour. The chill of the rain soaked through her clothes almost instantly, the wind biting at her skin as she shivered uncontrollably.

Tysha tugged at her jacket, trying to shield herself from the cold, but it was no use. The rain was relentless. Her body trembled, and she felt as though she was being swallowed by the storm.

Taehyung didn’t seem affected by the rain at all. His presence was strong and imposing as he walked ahead, seemingly unfazed by the cold. Tysha, on the other hand, was soaked to the bone, her teeth chattering as the chill of the wind hit her like a sharp slap.

When she shivered again, he stopped and turned toward her. His eyes, cold and calculating, appraised her, his gaze lingering on the way she was drenched.

“You’re freezing,” he said, his voice low. His expression remained unreadable.

Tysha could barely speak, her lips numb from the cold. “I’m fine,” she whispered, but her body betrayed her—shaking violently from the cold.

Without a word, Taehyung shrugged off his coat and approached her. He moved swiftly, taking her by surprise, and draped it over her shoulders. The heavy fabric felt warm against her wet skin, but the air between them felt oddly tense, charged with something she couldn’t quite place.

“You look cold. It doesn’t suit you,” he murmured, his voice almost too soft, too dangerous.

Tysha looked up at him, her heart pounding. The rain continued to pour down, but her mind was elsewhere, caught in the intensity of the moment. There was something in Taehyung’s eyes, something that made her pulse quicken, something that made her want to pull away—and yet, she couldn’t.

The storm roared louder around them, but their world was slowing down. It was as though only the two of them existed in this heavy, silent space.

Suddenly, a car came speeding down the street. Its tires splashed a wave of water toward them, and before Tysha could even react, Taehyung stepped in front of her, his body blocking the water with a protective stance.

Tysha gasped as the cold water splashed onto his back, but he didn’t flinch. His eyes never left her, his expression unreadable.

“Don’t get yourself hurt,” he said softly, his voice low, yet firm.

Tysha’s breath caught. She wasn’t sure if it was the rain or the tension between them, but the atmosphere felt electrified, like something dangerous was about to happen. As the water droplets trickled down his face, his eyes darkened, and there was something almost predatory in his gaze.

He reached out, gently cupping her face with his wet hand, the touch sending a shock of heat through her body despite the cold.

“Tysha,” he whispered, his voice laced with a softness that didn’t match the fierceness in his eyes. “You’re mine, in every way. I won’t let anything hurt you.”

Before she could respond, his lips were on hers—first soft, hesitant, as though testing the waters, then urgent, demanding. Her breath hitched as his grip on her tightened, pulling her closer, the rain dripping from both their bodies as they kissed.

Her heart raced, her body responding to him without thought, her arms reaching up to pull him closer. The kiss deepened, each movement a promise, a demand, an unspoken agreement that neither of them could escape.

When he finally pulled back, they were both breathless, standing in the middle of the rain-soaked street, the world around them forgotten. His hand rested on the back of her neck, holding her close, his forehead resting against hers.

“You won’t run from me, Tysha. I won’t let you.”

The words hung in the air, thick with meaning, and Tysha realized that in this moment, she didn’t want to run. Not from him, not from this.

The rain poured down on them, but neither of them cared. They were the only two people in the world, caught in a storm of their own making.

And then, just as Tysha thought she couldn’t take any more of the tension between them, Taehyung did something that left her breathless. He scooped her up in his arms, lifting her effortlessly as if she weighed nothing.

Tysha gasped in surprise, her soaked clothes sticking to her skin, but she found herself leaning into him instinctively. His strong arms cradled her against his chest, and his body was warm against hers in contrast to the cold rain.

“Let me take you home,” he murmured, his voice rough with the same need that had been building between them.

Tysha was too stunned to protest, her heart racing as he carried her, each step firm and confident. He walked with purpose, moving through the rain as if nothing else existed.

As he carried her toward the mansion, Tysha found herself unable to look away from him. His drenched figure looked impossibly handsome—every drop of water clinging to his dark hair, his clothes hugging his strong form in all the right ways. He was like something out of a dream—dangerous, powerful, and yet there was a tenderness in the way he held her, as though she was the only thing that mattered in that moment.

She couldn’t help but wonder if this was the beginning of something even more intense. Something that she wasn’t sure she could walk away from, she allowed herself to lean into him, trusting him in a way she had never trusted anyone before.
