INFLUENZA-59, MOONLIGHT PACK, BIRTHDAY HALL-
"Excuse me." Violet said as she rose from her seat. "Where are you going?" Jake inquired. "I just need some fresh air." she replied, walking briskly toward the exit without waiting for their response. "Why is she behaving this way?" Luna Nova asked, her concern evident. "Don't worry, Luna. We'll follow her. Maybe we'll find some clues." Calypso suggested. "We? No, I'm not coming. I want to savour my delectable chocolate cake." Silvia protested, taking a bite of her dessert. "Not today. Violet is much more important than your cake." Calypso insisted, pulling Silvia outside as she resisted. They made their way to the garden, where Violet was seated on a bench, engrossed in a phone conversation. There was no one else around. They quietly positioned themselves behind a nearby bench, crouching down to listen in on Violet's conversation "They observed the shift in my behaviour, sir." Violet acknowledged and after a pause she replied "Okay I'll do it right away, sir." before quickly rising from her seat. As she headed towards the entrance, she abruptly halted and spun around on her heels. "Why are you here?!" she demanded, her tone laced with anger, but received no response. "I can smell you. So, get up and tell me what the hell you're doing here!" she continued, prompting them to slowly rise. "Were you spying on me?" she growled. "N-no, we... we were just, uh," Silvia attempted to fabricate an excuse, but Calypso cut in. "We were simply learning how to camouflage." "Huh?" "You see, when we embark on our first mission, we'll need to camouflage to spy on our foes, so we were just practicing." Calypso explained, offering a small smile. "learning how to camouflage?" Violet repeated. "Yes!" Silvia exclaimed. "During my birthday celebration?" She asked incredulously. "Yes!" Silvia exclaimed, grinning. "Whatever, let's head inside. I have a surprise for everyone." Violet said as she nodded to her pack members and led them inside. They took their seats at the table while Violet made her way to the stage and picked up a microphone. "Dear Alpha, Luna, and esteemed pack members, on the occasion of my birthday, I have prepared a surprise that has the potential to change our future." she announced. Confused murmurs filled the room as Jake, her mate, frowned in bewilderment, prompting Alpha Darius to inquire why Violet hadn't shared her plans with him. Luna Nova expressed her surprise at the lack of communication, noting that Violet used to confide in Jake about everything. Despite the confusion, Hazel urged everyone to wait for the unveiling of the surprise. "It's time to reveal the surprise. 3." Violet declared, beginning her countdown. All eyes were fixed on her as she continued, "2." The anticipation in the room was palpable. "1...Go!"
The grand hall was enveloped in an unsettling silence, broken by the violent shattering of glass windows, the sound echoing through the air. In a flurry of chaos, the rogues burst through the broken windows, brandishing their weapons and launching into a ruthless assault on the unsuspecting crowd. The clash of their weapons was nearly drowned out by the piercing, horrified screams of the terrified onlookers. "Everyone, shift! It's a rogue attack!" Alpha Darius's booming voice cut through the chaos as he shifted into a massive black wolf. The pack's fierce warriors swiftly transformed into their powerful wolf forms and unleashed a ferocious counterattack against the intruders. "Tell the omegas to evacuate this place with the pups! Summon the pack doctors to tend to the injured!" Luna Nova commanded with urgency. "Calypso, take this." Jake said, pressing a gleaming sword into her hand. Calypso hesitated, opening her mouth to speak, but Jake swiftly interjected, placing a bow in Silvia's hand and instructing, "No buts. Watch your back!" As Calypso turned, she caught sight of a rogue poised to strike. With a swift, instinctive movement, she raised her sword, shut her eyes, and thrust it forward, piercing the attacker. When she cautiously reopened her eyes, she met with the sight of the rogue lying lifeless on the floor. Blood was scattered on the floor and her sword. "I just stabbed a rouge, huh? I feel sick." She said in disbelief as she looked at the dead rouge. "Calypso, don't stare at him!" Silvia said when she noticed her friend zoning out in the middle of a battle. "No, no, no! I can't do this. I can't kill!" Calypso said, feeling nauseous, a hint of fear in her voice. "Then get out of here!" Silvia yelled as she shot a rouge trying to attack her. "I can't leave you alone!" Calypso shouted as she dodged an attack. "Fine, let's run!" Silvia said as she grabbed Calypso's arm and took her outside the hall.
As the pack physicians nursed the wounded, Luna Nova accompanied them. "Are you two alright?" In anxiety, she inquired. "I am all right, but I believe Calypso needs some assistance." Silvia said panting. A while later, the wolves emerged from the hallway. Several of them suffered injuries. The huge black wolf stepped up. Blood was all over him, but everyone knew it wasn't his. "Your clothes are kept in the tents. Go behind the trees to change. Then, gather in the meeting hall." Luna Nova gave orders. Bring me, Calypso and Silvia. She kept turning to face the two people. They proceeded to the enormous meeting room with a beautiful view of the river and woodland through the large windows. Minutes later, Alpha Darius and the pack warriors assembled there to discuss the attack.
"It is all right, Jake. Violet must have been manipulated or hypnotized." Alpha Darius, attempted to comfort both his Beta and his best friend, but Jake remained silent. He could easily see the pain in his eyes despite his blank expression as he stared at the table. "Now I know why she was acting that way." Calypso said. "I believe...She was captured in the woods, before being sent away as an undercover spy. Luna Nova said. " Calypso, why did you flee?" Lukas asked. "I—I am incapable of killing." Looking down, she answered. "Why?" Silvia asked. "I really loathe it,I do not know why." she said. "You have to show to them that you're really not scared. This is not truth or dare. you are playing with your life. Luna Nova said angrily. "They'll kick you, then beat you and tell you it's fair." Alpha Darius added. "We must put an end to them. We need to get ready for another war." Jake spoke those words in rage. "No, we cannot let history repeat itself." We are not powerful enough to take them on on our own. We have to seek the Dragons' protection. Darius Alpha recommended. "Dragons?" Silvia exclaimed. "To be honest, I no longer find it surprising." Calypso replied, looking at the astonished Silvia. "Unfortunately, we have no knowledge of them." A confused pack warrior spoke. "The Bloodriver pack has an ancient library. Its owner is reported to have read all of the old books stored there. We might be able to learn something there." Glancing at Alpha Darius, another pack warrior spoke. "Kaiz, that is a great idea. I have a close friendship with the Alpha of Bloodriver. I will let him know that we will be seeing his pack. I shall be going alone, along with your Luna, Jake, Kaiz, Calypso, Silvia, and Hazel. We are leaving tomorrow, so please pack your things." Alpha Darius said, dismissing everyone.
