I wake up the next morning in a daze. A message from Brandon lights up my phone and I instantly feel happy. I grab it and see the message, sent to me 20 minutes ago.

Good morning beautiful. Did u sleep good? :)

I grin excessively after reading it, and roll over to bury my face in the pillow. I'm talking right now to the most beautiful man on the planet, both inside and out, and I feel like the luckiest girl ever. I quickly reply:

Yes I did, thanks to you. :)

I press send and anxiously await his response. He answers back after only a couple seconds;

That's good. I love knowing ur good ;)

That winky face excites me more than it should, and I can't help but smile as I continue texting him. He just lights up my day without even trying, and I can feel myself falling harder for him.

Can I see you today? Do you wanna go out and have some lunch?

He almost immediately responds:

Lunch with the most beautiful girl in the world? I'd be dumb not to accept ;)

I squeal at his choice of words and feel my body fluster with rapid emotion.

Great! I know the perfect place to meet up...

I text the address of the restaurant and tell him to meet me in about two hours. He quickly replies with a "see u there," and I die at his continued used of replacing "you" with "u".

I immediately get up, take a hot shower, brush my teeth, devour a cold bowl of cereal, and change into a cute tank top and jeans. It's the middle of December, but California acts like its high summer.

I receive another text with a ring, and wonder what Brandon is texting me for. I walk over to my nightstand and graphics my phone, and seeing the name of the sender makes my stomach drop.

It's Emma.

My mind starts flooding with uneasy memories about last night, and I remember the horrible fight me and her had after the concert. I feel bad for her being distraught, but also angry at her incessant jealousy of me and Brandon. It's not like I stole him away from her or anything, so why was she upset?

Then again, I think I would feel the same way too if I saw Brandon in another girl's arms. He's the most beautiful person I've ever met, both inside and out, and I would die knowing he was loving someone else. I've fallen hard for him, and I'm sure he feels the same about me. Granted, we were far from official, but the feeling is the same nonetheless.

I return back to the text and read what she says:

Coming to your house. I left some stuff that I need to pick up.

Irritation fills my head and I just toss my phone on my bed, not bothering to reply. I walk into my bathroom and start applying a small amount of makeup.

Ten minutes later, I hear my door open and close, and Emma's voice saying, "Hello?". Being my bestfriend, now ex-bestfriend, I gave her a copy of the keys to the house. I would need to change that.
