Star Fox Command 10th Ending: Fox & Wolf

Chapter 1: Post-Lylat Wars

Planet Corneria - 2 weeks after the Celebration
Star Fox & Star Wolf had split to do their own things

Falco took Katt on a date that would last all day, Lucy has been helping her father, Peppy stay active and hip, Dash worked with General Pepper to revive Andross's Defense plans and find some way to stop the post-war aggression, Slippy & Amanda have been making plans for vacation on a resort Island

With the Bounty off their heads, Wolf, Leon, & Panther had taken some side jobs and bunked in an apartment complex in Downtown Corneria City
Panther got a job as an Uber driver, Leon got a job as a Custodian, and Wolf got a job as a Mover, with the strong build he has, lifting the boxes felt like a breeze to him, even heavy furniture wasn't very difficult

what is surprising is that even though everyone knew Wolf, Leon, & Panther for their Criminal Deeds and Working for Andross in the past, but thanks to them helping Star Fox defeat the Anglars, not one average citizen showed any fear like they completely forgot why they even feared Star Wolf in the first place

Fox had been enjoying normal life, he'd attend at conventions and get extra money by offering autographs or pictures with buyers, Krystal had offered Fox a date to make up for joining Star Wolf, at first Fox was hesitant on the offer but eventually decided to accept it anyway, even though Krystal only reminded him of what felt like betrayal

One evening Fox & Krystal went on their date at a popular restaurant called "Quality Banquet", the two get seated near the water feature fountain at the center of the restaurant, they order what food they wanted, soon after they got their food, Krystal tries to start a conversation

🦊Krystal: Enjoying your food?
🦊Fox: Yeah, I can see why this place is called "Quality Banquet" despite how much the name sounds kinda generic
🦊Krystal: I did see that this place is popular, it got a lot of positive reviews, so it felt like a no-brainer why i'd choose to meet here
🦊Fox: Sounds reasonable

then silence for about a minute

🦊Krystal: Still in shock about me joining Star Wolf?
🦊Fox: Yeah, when I kicked you out of the team, I didn't think you'd make that big of a deal out of it
🦊Krystal: I did help fight the Aparoids a few years ago, so I was clearly capable of fending off any threats that would come at the time
🦊Fox: Yeah, at this point I don't know what I was thinking back then, I guess my mind was too worrisome to think you can fend for yourself, I lost my father years ago before I met you, so I think my worrisome-instinct made me fear that i'd lose you too, but now... I'm not worried at all, and not because the Anglars are dead
🦊Krystal: What do you mean "not worried"?
🦊Fox: I don't know. You ever get that feeling when you'd care for someone's safety, but they say "I can handle myself" and it gives you this 'odd' feeling that doesn't feel like relief, but more like a "okay, see if I care then" kind of feeling?
🦊Krystal: "see if I care"? That sounds... not only odd, but also complicated
🦊Fox: It feels as complicated as it sounds, but I wouldn't take it so seriously, I don't hate you, but I also don't feel so... attached as I was when we first been together
🦊Krystal: so you're saying you don't feel 'love' for me anymore?
🦊Fox: If that's how you wanna put it, then yes, again I don't hate you. What I can put nicely is we can still be friends, just not a 'BF-GF' type of relationship

Krystal felt a bit of shock, the two continued to finish their food, soon a Ginger-Cat Waiter brought the check to the table

🦊Fox: I'll get this

Fox places Cash to pay for the dinner

🦊Krystal: you didn't need to do that, I could've paid for both of us
🦊Fox: No, it's the least I could do after confessing what I feel now
🦊Krystal: Okay, if you insist
🦊Fox: Yes, I do insist

the two exit the restaurant

🦊Fox: this wasn't the best or worst date, but I hope there was no hard feelings between us
🦊Krystal: No, none whatsoever, i'm just in pure shock
🦊Fox: well, I guess see you around
🦊Krystal: see ya

They both went their own ways, meanwhile Wolf was done with his shift as a Mover, he called Panther to pick him up, after 10 minutes Panther picked Wolf up from the moving company's office

🐺Wolf: Hey, Panther, Leon's shift is almost over. We should pick him up as well
🐈‍⬛Panther: Very well, even though his job is not that far from the complex, i'm still gonna have to charge you both
🐺Wolf: We all live together, can't you let it slide?
🐈‍⬛Panther: I would, but my boss would get suspicious that i'm giving you guys free rides, he'd get really mad
🐺Wolf: Does it have to hurtl to be a little generous?
🐈‍⬛Panther: apparently it does have to hurt my boss, and since when did you care about generosity?
🐺Wolf: Since we helped Star Fox kill the Anglar Emperor, that's when

Panther picked Leon up from the office building where he does his custodian job

🦎Leon: Took you long enough
🐈‍⬛Panther: Don't push me, Leon, dealing with ungreatful customers are stressful enough as it is
🦎Leon: Its not as stressful as hard-pressing mops just to get puddles and smudges off, do you know how hard that is?
🐈‍⬛Panther: I doubt that's more stressful than people demanding unnecessary stops during their trips, especially when their destinations are literally one block away
🦎Leon: Whatever, I don't know why I even chose to be a custodian, sure it pays well, but is it even worth the trouble?
🐈‍⬛Panther: I don't know, I thought being an uber driver for Corneria City would be a breeze, but some people are just too demanding
🦎Leon: Too demanding? You should've seen how demanding Andross was. He even makes his normal voice sound intimidating, his threats sound even more remorseless in order to make us obey him, it still give me chills to this day, how about you, Wolf?

Wolf wasn't listening to Leon & Panther's conversation, he had been thinking to himself while looking out the window

🦎Leon: Wolf?
🐺Wolf: Huh?
🦎Leon: Remember when Andross always sounded intimidating even with a normal voice tone?
🐺Wolf: Yeah, sorry I kinda zoned out
🐈‍⬛Panther: What were you thinking about?
🐺Wolf: Do you ever get the feeling where it feels like you're missing something? Like something you never knew you wanted but can't quite put your finger on what it is?
🦎Leon: No, not once
🐈‍⬛Panther: Me neither
🐺Wolf: I know it sounds odd, but I can't help but wonder about it
🐈‍⬛Panther: Well don't think too much about it, our jobs are barely making ends-meet as it is, let's just focus on living
🐺Wolf: I can't promise not to think about it too much, but I don't think it will be a very big problem with my job

The 3 make it back to the complex and head to their apartment, Panther sits on the living room couch and turns on the TV, Leon opens the fridge in the kitchen for leftovers to heat up, Wolf heads into the bathroom to shower

🐈‍⬛Panther: Dammit, I missed the live broadcast, well, good thing I prerecorded it this morning before we left
🦎Leon: What's even so good about that show anyway?
🐈‍⬛Panther: I just like it, so don't judge me
🦎Leon: Why shouldn't I?
🐈‍⬛Panther: I don't judge what you watch, so why are you judging me?
🦎Leon: whatever
🐈‍⬛Panther: That's what I thought

Leon takes the leftovers he heated up and starts to eat as he watch Panther's favorite show with him, Meanwhile Wolf in the shower was still thinking about what he was missing in his life, he was so deep in thought he didn't realize how much time had passed, he heard a knock at the bathroom door and it snapped him back into reality

🐈‍⬛Panther: Wolf, are you gonna be any longer in there? It's been 30 minutes and I need the toilet
🐺Wolf: Sorry, lost track of time

Wolf turns off the shower and grabs a towel, unlocks the door and exits the bathroom

🐺Wolf: All yours
🐈‍⬛Panther: Thanks

Panther enters the bathroom while Wolf heads into the bedroom, The bed room has 3 Twin sized beds which occupied a lot of space, it ways bothered Wolf on why they didn't get bunk beds to it could save some space in the room and not make it feel so crowed or tight, he dried himself off and put on his pajamas, after that he went to the balcony, viewing from the 5th floor of the complex he sees lights of Downtown Corneria City, he then looks down and notices a familiar face sitting on a bench waiting for a bus, Wolf began to think more about the feeling of something missing in his life

🐺Wolf (thinking): What's Fox doing out here? Could this be why i'm having this feeling? Is Fox somehow connected to this feeling I have? Does this even mean anything? Am I crazy or is he why I feel like i'm missing something?

As Wolf was observing, Fox browses on his phone and gets some thoughts about his current life situation

🦊Fox (thinking): I may have lost any chances of being with Krystal, but at this point I don't even care if I'm gonna end up alone, at least there won't be any more heartbreak, sure Falco & Katt are hitting it off well, Slippy & Amanda have really been enjoying each other, and I know Peppy misses his beloved Vivian, but he does have his sweet daughter Lucy to keep him company. I don't think Fay & Miyu are interested in finding dates, and I don't blame them. No date, no heartbreak, Fara and I have moved on but stay as friends. It's probably best I end up dying single, but I can't but wonder if i'm missing something that feels... so close yet so far, but I can't figure out what it is

Fox then sees a Corneria City Print news article that reads "Star Fox Disbanded?"

🦊Fox (thinking): Those news cast people will think of anything just to get attention, we just haven't had any new jobs lately, there hasn't even been a minor threat, but it's still cool how everyone is banding back together and also got some new recruits, I bet our next job will be way more if not doubly easier

A bus finally arrived at the stop, Fox boarded the bus, Wolf watched Fox leave from the stop

🐺Wolf (Thinking): He seamed kinda off and also bummed out, I wonder why that is, if this weird feeling I have is anyway related to Fox, I'd probably... I don't know, maybe I would be really shocked if that really were the case, but with Andross dead, the Aparoids defeated and the Anglars gone, what else am I waiting for in life? I guess i'll have to live on and wait till I find out

meanwhile on the Bus

🦊Fox (Thinking): I know that Krystal meant well for the most part, but now she just feels like another person I know in like, she should be glad I don't consider her an acquaintance, otherwise I would've chosen to forget everything we had in the past, the best an apologetic dinner date can do is only gonna cover the emotional wounds, not heal them, and even if I end up alone at least i'll never felt heartbreak again

Fox was brought back to reality when the Bus stopped

🦦Otter Bus Driver: This is Western Main Street Avenue, anybody getting off?

🦊Fox: Yeah, this my stop

Fox walks to the bus door at the front

🦦Otter Bus Driver: You feeling okay? ya look kinda bummed out

🦊Fox: I don't know If I am okay and I do feel bummed out. I had an apologetic dinner with a friend, there's no hard feelings, but it doesn't help with the betrayal wounds

🦦Otter Bus Driver: That sounds very complicated

🦊Fox: That's exactly what she told me, and at this point I don't really care about dying alone

🦦Otter Bus Driver: so that heartbroken, huh? oh well, hopefully it would all turn up someday

🦊Fox: I doubt that its likely

Fox steps out of the bus

🦦Otter Bus Driver: Have a great rest of your night, sir

🦊Fox: Thanks

Fox walks the rest of his way to his apartment complex near main street, once he got to the building, he entered the lobby and took an elevator to his floor to get to his apartment, it was small with 4 rooms, A kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and a bedroom, but it was enough for even enough for a couple to live in, but Fox didn't care about having a girlfriend in his life anymore leaving more space for him to take in the small but stable apartment in a 12-story complex

Fox then turned on his TV to check for anything good to watch before heading to bed, he flipped on the Corneria City News Channel to see that the top story of the rumor of the Star Fox Team Disbanded from the website really did spread like wildfire

🦊Fox (Thinking): really? did they have to take that rumor seriously? sometimes I don't get what's with people, the next time we get a new mercenary assignment and show our returning members, it will prove those fake news cast they were wrong about us disbanding

40 minutes later, the time is 10:38 PM

🦊Fox (Thinking): crap, it's already late!

Fox turns off tv and prepares for bed, slips on pajamas and lays on his bed, soon he gets more thoughts

🦊Fox (Thinking): I still can't help but feel like something is missing in my life, I guess I won't know what it is till it finally comes, yet I still wonder what it means...

Soon Fox fell asleep, meanwhile back at Wolf's Apartment in Downtown Corneria City Wolf was laying awake while Leon and Panther were sleeping, Wolf was still wondering if Fox has anything to do with the feeling of missing something

🐺Wolf (Thinking): Could it be that I have feelings for him? wait, what i'm I thinking? I mean sure we did help him and the rest of Star Fox defeat the Anglars, but if this feeling I have does have something to do with Fox, then what does it mean?

Wolf thought for a while and finally slept, both Fox and Wolf couldn't figure out what the feelings they have meant, but little did they know that soon they'll realize what unexpected event was about to unfold and make a big change in all of the Lylat System
