The rest of my day was spent getting death looks and unbelievable stares. Hearing the final bell ring was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. I gather my things from class, Mrs. Michealsons decided that by adding 75 words to my paper it was good enough, and I stop by the front desk to discuss something with Michaelsons. After a good while of listening to her lecture about responsibilities, I walk to my locker. Several 'hi Zoe' and 'what's up?' greet me. I'm glad that not everyone is on Harper's side, whatever it may be. By my locker, Chris is talking to a couple of guys from the cafeteria table.
"Z! Chris told us about how you shut down Harper this morning. That must've been awesome."
"I guess." I say, but comes out as a question.
"Are you coming to Blacks party?" Isaac asks, following Chris and I down the hallway hand in hand.
"I'm not sure."
"What?" Chris and Beaux exclaim at the same time, Beaux slightly louder than necessary - as usual.
"I have plans with my friends and I don't have a ride anyway, so.."
"My cars being fixed that weekend, I'd love to help but unless you want me to walk you. Sorry, babe." Chris says, squeezing my hand. I'm surprised at the gesture, I search his face for any sign of emotion on his features Beaux's voice breaks the daze.
"Don't be idiots, Isaac will pick her up."
"Yeah, it's no problem." Isaac smiles and a dimple shows up on his left cheek. I smile back, realising I'm staring. I quickly look away.
We've walked out of school and I realise that and hour has past by our pointless conversations.
"Oh, I need to get home." I exclaim. If there was one thing I hated more than Harper, there are several actually, it was being late.
"Is everything okay?" Isaac asks.
"Yeah, I just have something planned with the girls. My parents aren't home so they can't get inside."
"I'll drive you over, I have basketball practice." Chris offers.
"Won't you guyses coach mind?" I knit my eyebrows together(which, by the way, still hurt from when Chloe ruthlessly 'fixed' them).
"Nah, coach is cool." He shrugs, "Tell him I got held up."
Isaac and Beaux nod and walk towards the gym. When we are safely out of earshot, I break the silence;
"That was a long day." I sigh.
"At least Harper hasn't killed you yet."
We drive in silence for a few minutes. When we're only a few houses away, Chris asks "How did your friends re act?"
"They freaked. No one expected me to get a boyfriend. Least of all for it to be you," we slow to a stop infront to of the house. Erin, Jessica, and Tori making themselves comfortable on the porch chairs,"Shoot."
"What?" Chris wonders as he kills the engine.
"If I don't kiss you goodbye, they won't give me the end of it. Throughout the years I've known them, we've built up what a perfect relationship would be like." I sigh, and slump down in my seat.
"So? Kiss me."
My eyes snap open and my muscles tighten, "what?"
"You know, just a peck or kiss cheek."
I look over to the porch, Tori looks bored scrolling through her phone, Jessica is sneaking peeks at us, and Erin is leaning forward with big eyes. I lean over the shift stick and give him a peck on the cheek.
"Ms. Goody-two-shoes playing hard to get. Exciting." He smirks.
"Shut it."

The girl and I are sprawled across my bedroom, and they are trying to get details out of me. All I tell them is that Chris asked me out a few weeks ago, but we kept it low on the Radar because he had just broken up with Harper. Chloe helped us come up with it.
"So he broke up with The Bitch because of you?" Tori asks' outing her phone aside.
"That is so romantic!" Erin squeals.
I laugh at the thought of what's actually happening.
"I can't believe you didn't tell us." Jess says again, giving me a disapproving look.
"Did you guys hear about Blacks party this year?" Tori asks.
"It's supposed to be the best yet," Aria's voice comes from the doorway,"You should really lock the door up. There could be all kinds of creeps out there."
"Like yourself?"
"One more insulting thing and I'm telling mom."
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Hey! Stop wasting our time, go argue at home." Jessica commands.
"How about we do something on Saturday?" Erin suggests, knowing that probably none of us are invited to the party.
"Busy." I say.
"With what?" Tori's voice is filled with disbelief.
"The party." I mumble.
"You're going to Black's party?!?!" Jessica yells.
And then I need to explain all over again.
