*in this story Harry potter's son, James, is the same age as Teddy *

*Tonks's p.o.v.*

the day in which I had to say bye to my husband and son for almost a year came, Teddy got into our bed and started jumping:

"Mommy, Daddy! wake up, we're going to be late to the station"

I groaned and turned around to snuggle next to Remus:

"I don't want to wake up" he whispered as he wrapped his arms around me

I leaned closed onto him and whined:

"and I don't want you to go wolfy"

he chuckled and whispered back:

"I'm going to miss you calling me that" he went silent and then he added "I'm going to grab Teddy and make him come down here okay?"

I nodded and felt how he sat up, to come down a couple of seconds later with our son, who shouted for a moment and then made himself a spot to lay in between us, he turned to me and said:

"Mommy I'm going to miss you, you promise you and Hope will come to visit me on family day?"

I opened my eyes to look at him and nodded as I said:

"of course I will baby"

he smiled and we stood laying there in silence for a bit, to hear some minutes later someone running through the house, then we heard Hope said:

"I though you had left already without me"

the three of us looked to the door and I smiled, I lifted and arm and told her:

"come here baby girl"

she smiled and ran up to me, and made herself some space between me and Ted:

"hey Hope, I was there"

"well I wanted to lay down here too" she said back

"yeah but I wanted to be next to Mom"

"well you can't be next to Mom and Dad at the same time" 

I saw Teddy rolled her eyes and say back:

"but I'm not going to see Mom in a year, so change places please"

that probably made Hope realise that she wasn't going to see his father in a year too, because she nodded and quickly they changed places, and soon Teddy was again snuggled next to me

I kissed his head and I felt how he smiled, we stayed like that, being together for the last time all of us together

Remus began moving and I sat up too:

"okay guys, we need to get going if we want to get to the station on time"

I rolled put of bed slowly and so did Hope, Remus followed Teddy to make sure he had everything he needed for the school year

--- time skip to them leaving the house ---

in an hour we were already ready to go, I had called my Mom to ask her if Dad and her could stay at my house until I came back, and now they were saying bye to Teddy, before we headed out the door, Teddy gave another tight hug to the rest of his siblings, and promised them to write them at least once a month

we got in the car and drove to London's station, I kept looking back at our son and saw how he was more nervous as we approached the train, when we got out of the car, he held my hand tightly as Remus got everything out, he then handed me the keys and we walked inside

I heard Teddy breath hard a couple of times, so I squeezed his hand and told him:

"you're going to do amazing, and if anything happens, which won't, you Dad's going to be with you okay baby?"

he nodded and looked up at me with a smile:

"okay Mom"

when we made sure no one was watching we got into the platform where the Hogwarts express was, and saw that there were already a lot of people in there:

"looks like we got here just in time" Remus said smiling, he was still carrying his and Teddy's staff, so he turned to us and added "let me go put this in its place, I'll be back in a bit"

I nodded and Teddy and I began walking until we heard:

"Teddy!"

we turned around and saw James, Harry's son, making his way through the people in between until he managed to get in front of us, I looked at my son and saw how his face lit up and gave James a side hug, he let go of my hand and quickly started talking with him, I looked behind James and saw Harry and Ginny approaching we said hi and started talking between us, soon Remus came and said:

"well well, if it isn't the Potters"

Ginny and harry chuckled and Harry asked:

"is it true that you're going to be back to Hogwarts as a teacher?"

I looked at my husband and saw how he nodded:

"well then we'll count on you to look after James then?" Ginny asked

Remus nodded and answered:

"you can count on that, I'll make sure he grows up to live up to the expectations his last name is"

Harry laughed and said:

"as long as he does good and doesn't get into trouble we are okay"

a whistle was heard and James and Teddy turned to us, and Remus:

"we need to get going, Teddy, say goodbye to your Mom buddy" 

he turned to me and gave me a tight hug, and then Remus added with a smile:

"Ted, I'm not going to be able to sit with you because students and teacher hare in different sides of the train, okay?"

he nodded and whispered:

"okay Daddy"

"everything is going to be okay baby, remember to send letter to your siblings, that they will be waiting for them"

he nodded again and gave me another hug and kiss, he then turned and saw that James was already waiting for him, so he said:

"I'm going to go now, we don't want everything to be full"

I nodded and stopped my tears from falling:

"have fun Teddy"

he smiled one last time and told me with a smile:

"I will Mom, see you on Christmas!"

"bye!" I told him one last time before he got in the train

Ginny and Harry had, kindly, moved a little far away so that I could say bye to my husband:

"you better take good care of him Remus, and of yourself too, did you bring your potions?" I told him

he chuckled and replied:

"of course I will Dora and I did, don't worry"

I looked at him with a smile and gave him a tight hug, until we heard the whistle one more time, this time, meaning they'll leave in a minute

"don't you forget to send letters yourself mister, you have a little princess at home that will be waiting for them"

he chuckled and told me:

"I won't forget I promise, you take care of our family, I already can't wait to go back to all of you"

I smiled and he gave me a kiss one last time before getting on the train, he waved me one last time and left inside, soon Ginny and Harry were next to me, Ginny placed her head on my shoulder and after we found Teddy and James was said our goodbyes, letting our tears run freely:

"oh, how I'm going to miss him" Ginny said

"yeah me too, but I bet they're going to have the time of their lives"

"oh yeah the will" Harry said next to his wife with a smile, as we saw the train leave the station
