The Torture

AUTHOR'S POV
Agastya was tied in chains, his hands were bruised, his back had marks of belt, his clothes were torn, his mouth was full of blood, his body had many scars. Yet he was smiling and saying, "now I too have similar marks like Yuvika, my wife".

The kind of torture he used to give criminals was now taken by him. While they were hitting him he kept on shouting "I am a criminal, I have done more than a crime, I have touched my wife without her permission". The whole room was filled with his painful voice, his bodyguards shivered but agastya asked them to keep on going.
This tortured continued for one whole week.

On the other hand, yuvika celebrated Bhai dhooj with her sister Arohi since Yuvika calls her husband "bhaiya". After the festival yuvika went to her parents house. She decided not to call or text him and not even ask about him to any of his guards OR family members.
Even she was broken and scared from inside, the incident had shook her up. She didn't tell her parents anythinh regarding it because she thought they wouldnt react much.

Where Agastya was giving himself physical torture, Yuvika was giving herself a mental and emotional torture.

One whole week was gone, no answer from Agastya or Yuvika.
"Yuvika, I guess now you should go to your house, it's already been a week. Newly wedded girls shouldn't stay at their parents house much. Understand?" her mother came to talk to her "why mom, don't you like me having here? When I was here, I was always busy with my studies and then this sudden marriage, I want to spend some more time and plus there is no one to take me there. So I'll stay here for more days.. Ok"
"Okok who can win from you, now come on let's eat dinner"
Yuvika felt that agastya had forgotten about her and the situation. She was too much engrossed with her family to care about her own thoughts and actions.

AT THE RAICHAND'S MANSION
"Agastya ke papa, it's been a whole week agastya hasn't returned home. Where is he? I heard he's not even in the office" ragini was worried about Agastya "Even I don't know Ragini, the whole office is a mess because agastya decided to disappear. Suddenly you all decide to send yuvika to her house and here agastya is also lost. What should I do huh??? I'll send a driver to Yuvika's house to bring her back and that's final... No one will question me" Agastya's father seemed angry too but then he received a call from shahin, Agastya's bodyguard

"hello, what happened shahin? Any news about Agastya?"
"Um, Sir actually" shahin sounded confused, scared and worried at the same time
"Can you speak?? What's wrong tell me" Agastya's father shouted
"Boss is in the hospital, he's in the Emergency Room. I don't know what happened between Boss and Mrs Yuvika but he kept on saying that I'm a criminal, I did a crime so he insisted us to take him to the torture room. He made us torture himself straight for a week.
Today he collapsed and couldn't breathe, so we brought him to the ER, please.. Please you all also come and check upon boss" Shahin's words hit Alok (Agastya's dad) like a knife. He loved his precious son and hearing him torturing himself was way beyond limits.
Alok and Ragini rushed to the hospital only to find Agastya in a bad condition with oxygen mask on and many machines connected to his body.

"Hey bhagwan, yeh kya halat bana Li isne. Yeh sab kya hua, kya hua inn dono k beech ki agastya ne khud ko yeh saza di"
Ragini kept murmuring to herself when Shreya came towards her "Mummyji, Woh Diwali party k din, Agastya ne daru jyada pi li thi, uss karan se he, he tried to Agh he touched yuvika sexually without her permission" after hearing Shreya's words, Ragini's face turned pale, she couldn't believe what her son did.
Shahin had called yuvika as well to inform him regarding Agastya's situation so yuvika too came "Mummy Ji, Woh.. Woh Kyse hai ab?" Yuvika's face was pale, her eyes were filled with tears. "Why didn't you tell me about this yuvika?? You know how much wrong this is, too keep quiet regarding such matters"ragini shouted at her. "I'm like your mother, you should've shared it with me Atleast, agastya is my son that doesn't mean I'm not a woman, I am a woman first and then a mother. I would've slapped him then and there. He has no rights to touch you while being drunk" Ragini began to cry and hugged yuvika, even she began to cry and apologized for not informing OR sharing Ragini about the situation. "If this is the reason, then I have no issues with whatever Agastya has done. He deserved this punishment, instead I'm proud of him that he could do this, and take the risk of being punished. Now if fate has written Life for him then he shall live and learn his lesson " Ragini spoke loudly and went to the mansion along with Shreya. Yuvika waited in the hospital the whole night.
The next morning doctor informed them that agastya was fine and any one can meet him. So it was yuvika, who went to meet him.

"Yuvika?" he called her softly, his eyes were still closed "please come sit near me, I promise I won't open my eyes and look at you"
"Why did you do this? What kind of man punishes himself in this way ha???" yuvika shouted loudly "You did a very big mistake, I know and I, I will never forgive you for that but what is this, there are so many cuts, marks and bruises on your body now. After that night, I, I am still scared of you but I was happy that you didn't -" agastya stopped her midway and said "Please yuvika, my actions are not supposed to be justified. Whatever I did was wrong, and I am glad I understood it and took the punishment. I promise yuvika, I will never touch you without your permission. Maybe not in this life. I don't even deserve to be called a man." yuvika covered his mouth with her hands "Shush, for now sleep. We will talk later. Doctor said you need rest and that way your wounds will heal." she turned off the lights and left the room.

YUVIKA'S POV

Looking at him this way makes my body shiver. I can't forget whatever he did to me, but I'm still drawn to him, I still want to be close to him, I still can't go away from him. Why is that, why??

"If you are worried, your answers will be given by God beti" an old man spoke from behind
"Ji, God? Are you sure??"
"Yes, he answers everyone because he's the Supreme." I don't know why but his words sounded true so I thanked him and decided to visit Lord Krishna's temple.
There I sat for a very long time and I found out that his actions were bad and the reactions were worse.
I had two options, one to divorce him and walk away from everything and everyone despite his punishment and grief OR second to accept his apology and start a new journey by forgetting about the past.

And I.. I decided to choose the second one because everyone deserves a second chance. His punishment was worse than his sins, if God gave him a second chance to live then I too should. The fear, the anxiety will still be there, but this time I will learn to overcome them and give a chance to this marriage and him. With that I took the prashad from the priest and went to the hospital to meet him.
