The air was thick with tension as Lucas stared out at the horizon from the rooftop of Cunningham Academy.

The battle with Maya and Elizabeth had left its mark on them all—physically and mentally. Even now, two days after the conflict, the aftershocks lingered, their bodies still sore, their minds clouded by the remnants of darkness they'd faced.

The Dark Wave Force had made it out alive, but it was clear: they were no longer the same group that had entered the battle.

Every one of them had been pushed to the edge. Their powers had been tested, stretched to the brink, but it was their will that had been the true battleground.

"Lucas," Amai called from behind him. "We need to talk."

Turning, Lucas saw Amai approaching, her gravity powers flickering weakly in the air around her. Her usual strength had been drained during the fight, just like the others, but there was something in her eyes now—a steely determination that hadn't been there before.

"You're right," Lucas replied, motioning to the others who were gathered in the room behind him. "We need to figure out what comes next. We can't keep running from the truth—we're not ready for what Maya and Elizabeth have planned. And the worst part? I don't think they're finished with us yet."

Amai nodded grimly. "What happened in that fight—Maya and Elizabeth were playing a different game than we were. It wasn't just power they were after—it was our will, our hope. They wanted to break us."

"You're right," Lucas said, his voice low. "But we can't afford to let them win. They're going to come for us again, and next time, they might not stop. We need to prepare, and we need answers."

The team gathered in the strategy room, sitting around a table scattered with holographic maps.

They realized no matter how hard the battle had been, that they were stronger together. Lucas had come to realize that their unity was their greatest weapon, even if their powers alone weren't enough to match the overwhelming forces they faced.

"Alright," Lucas began, his voice steady but filled with urgency. "We've got to figure out what Maya and Elizabeth's next move is. We can't let ourselves be blindsided again."

Jamal, who had been pacing back and forth, finally stopped. "We're not the only ones dealing with this. If Maya and Elizabeth are connected to something bigger, then there's more trouble on the way. I say we get ahead of it. We need to go after the source."

Genesis, who had been silent for a while, finally spoke. "We don't even know where to start. We've only seen pieces of their plan. I agree with Jamal that we need to act fast, but we can't just rush in blind. We need intel—something to give us a lead."

Skyler added, her usual calm demeanor tinged with frustration, "We're barely recovering from the last fight. If we go charging in again without a solid plan, we'll just get ourselves killed."Jessica, who had been leaning against the wall, glanced up.

"The other day, Lucas mentioned something. Something about calling in the old heroes. If they've been through this kind of thing before, maybe they have some insight we don't."
