4 months later
Beetlejuice stood beaming at Lydia, beautiful in her red wedding dress. Behind her veil, she smiled at him. It was finally happening. He got his dream girl, and soon he would be human. It all felt almost too overwhelming.
Lydia couldn't believe it. Here she was, with Beetlejuice of all people. It was all silly to her, yet it couldn't feel more right. Her daughter stood behind her in a beautiful silver dress, her hair put up in a braided bun, her boyfriend Demitri standing behind Richard who was standing behind Beetlejuice.
Astrid was amazed at how easily Demitri had taken everything, till she found out he had the ability to see the dead as well, his starting at the young age of five. They connected with that fact, and quickly became serious.
In the audience sat Wolf and his secretary along with the whole nether police force.
"Do you Lydia take Beetlejuice to be your husband in life as he would in death?" asked a zombie priest.
"I do." Said Lydia. Beetlejuice felt his chest heave.
"You all heard her! Came from her mouth!" he said, looking around the room at everyone, who in return laughed. Lydia smacked him in the arm.
"Just making sure everyone knows I didn't speak for you this time." Said Beetlejuice with a laugh.
"And do you Beetlejuice, take Lydia to be your wife?"
"I sure in hell do!"
"If anyone opposes this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace."
Astrid and Beetlejuice glared out into the crowed for a moment, and when no one said anything, the priest continued.
"I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Beetlejuice cupped Lydia's face and brought her in for a kiss that she gladly accepted, placing her hands over his. Then a wind seemed to swirl around them, and Beetlejuice began to change. Her hands rested on his chest as they continued to kiss, before Lydia noticed the wind, and she pulled away and before her eyes, Beetlejuice skin turned a pale peach, his hair a pale blond, the mold fell from his cheeks, and the dark circles faded from his eyes. He looked so different.
Lydia about gasped as he transformed.
"What's wrong? Am I that ugly?"
Lydia burst with laughter. "No! Just different."
"I feel great." Said Beetlejuice with a smile. "Did I look like a Disney princess when I transformed."
Astrid burst with laughter, "Nah. Way better."
"You look younger than me." said Lydia with a laugh. "My goodness."
"I was 36 years old when I died. I think."
"Wow Mom. Didn't know you were such a cougar." Joked Astrid.
"Excuse me!" she said in disbelief. "He is still over 600 years older."
Everyone laughed.
"I think this deserves a song!" said Beetlejuice and he snapped, but nothing happened. "Oh yeah. Can't do that anymore."
"But we can."
Everyone looked over to see Charles and Delia Deetz standing in the isle.
"Dad!" shouted Lydia, not ready to see him how he was.
"Well, how about me?" asked Delia.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"I told you we'd haunt you." Delia laughed.
"I wanted to see you were well taken care of dear." Said Charles. Lydia had to strain to hear him.
"And we can see that." Said Delia. "Oddly."
Beetlejuice smiled ear to ear, wrapping an arm around Lydias shoulders. "She is in the best hands."
"She better be Beetlejuice!" said Delia, pointing a finger. "Or else we will forever haunt your ass."
"I believe it." Said Beetlejuice, putting his hands up.
Lydia and Astrid walked up to them, and they all hugged each other, saying their goodbyes.
"Ok, we may get on the soul train now though, but I'm sure you can kick his ass if you need to." Delia whispered to Lydia, who laughed.
"I'm sure I can. Love you guys."
"One parting gift before we go." Said Charles. And suddenly everyone began to float in the air. Beetlejuice air ran to Lydia, grabbing her hand and twirled her around as How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You by Marvin Gaye began to play. Astrid reached for Demetri with a laugh, and he took her hand. Wolf began to dance with Janet, his secretary, and the cops all began to dance. Delia smiled at Charles, and she wrapped her arms around his waist as they began to move with the music, till they faded away.
Lydia smiled up at Beetlejuice as he held her hand and waste, and spinning around the room.
That night Beetlejuice carried her to her bed and ravished her. He felt so complete. Sure he didn't have his powers, but he gladly gave them up for her.
That night they fell asleep in each other's arms.
Something crept in the night, making its way to the bed. As Beetlejuice stirred and began to open his eyes, he saw the glint of a knife come down on Lydia. Her eyes shot open and she gasped as blood filled her lungs. A figure stood over her, the figure of Daloris.
"No!" Beetlejuice screamed, launching into the sitting position.
"Beetlejuice? What's wrong?" asked Lydia, sitting up and placing a hand on his back. He looked at her, tears in his eyes.
He wrapped her in a hug, holding her tightly. Daloris was in hell. She couldn't hurt her. The sudden fear of losing Lydia struck him. He finally came back to life. What if he would lose her? Life was such a fragile state.
"Beetlejuice?" she asked, patting his back. He held her tightly, crying into her shoulder.
"It was just a dream." He said.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not really."
"Ok. Let's watch something."
Beetlejuice let her go, and she reached for the remote next to the bedstand and turned on the tv. She scrolled for a bit before she came up on Casper, the classic cartoon. It was about to end, and switch to Scooby Doo and Zombie Island. Beetlejuice had begun to enjoy Scooby Doo a month into their relationship, being stuck at the house now and then waiting for Lydia to get off work.
They lay there watching it as Beetlejuice laid his head on her shoulder and she ran her hand through his soft hair. She had never seen him like this. He was untalkative and staring blankly at the show.
"I love you." She said to him, hoping that would cheer him up. He grabbed her hand, giving it a kiss and holding it tightly.
"I love you too.
"What do you want to do tomorrow as our first day of being married?" asked Lydia.
Beetlejuice sat up and looked at her. "I want to ravish you again. Then go for breakfast and ravish you some more."
"Well, I hope that won't be till we get back home."
"Nope. Right on the table."
Lydia burst with laughter. "No!"
Beetlejuice smiled at her. "Come on!"
"No."
"At least let me cum in then."
Lydia covered her face as it turned bright red. "You are terrible." She screamed past her hands.
"You love it."
She kissed him, her cheeks feeling hot.
"Yes. Yes, I do."
Lydia fell asleep after a while, and Beetlejuice thought for a bit. There had to be something he could do to protect her, but what?
