Buttercup is a Dryad with fair, freckled skin, shiny, long blonde hair that is starting to turn white, and sparkly blue eyes.
During The Greatest Murder, she wears a long, flowy yellow dress with long, dropped sleeves. The dress features green ribbons around her torso and arms, resembling leafy vines. Her brown sandals also have ribbons that wrap up her legs with fake small green leaves. More vine-like ribbons wrap around her wrists and neck, and a flower crown of buttercups and white roses rests on her head.
As per her suspect appearance in The Greatest Murder, it is known that Buttercup is superstitious, eats popcorn, and knows ballroom dancing.
Powers and abilities
Buttercup is a Dryad (nature spirit). Her powers are nature-based and center around the Earth and its environment.
Her powers include, but are not limited to:
* Chlorokinesis
* Wood Manipulation
* Plant Mimicry (Can temporarily turn into a tree or flower. Cannot sustain this form for too long, or else Buttercup will forget who she is and permanently become a tree/flower)
* Plant Communication
* Plant generation
Other abilities she has include, but are not limited to:
* Extended lifespan (While not immortal, Buttercup lives longer than the human lifespan)
* Superhuman strength
* Superhuman speed
* Superhuman stamina
Other facts about Buttercup's magic:
* Her descendants became some of the strongest nature mages. Fili is one of the strongest, even before SOMBRA experimented on him. While some of her descendants chose different forms of magic to practice, most stayed within the nature realm, given their bloodline's connection to the Earth
* Likewise, her direct descendants still carry Dryad genes even if they are dormant. It's why some of them can photosynthesize and have other plant-like traits
* She doesn't eat plants (it is technically cannibalism), and her Dryad body allows her to get necessary nutrients from other food sources and sunlight
* She usually grows flowers in her hair, typically buttercups, in various styles
* She has a full Dryad form where her skin becomes wood, her hair flower petals, and swirling vine/leaf tattoos appear on her body
Synopsis
Buttercup is the co-owner of The Circus of Dream alongside her husband Gwaine. The two are from the Enchanted Isles, Gwaine having been born there while Buttercup had moved there several decades ago. They moved to the human realm shortly after getting married to join Cirque de Nuit and help protect the supernatural creatures still living there. They temporarily left the circus to start a family, and once their children were old enough, they all rejoined Cirque de Nuit.
When their children were fully grown, Buttercup and Gwaine began talking about an old idea of theirs: starting a permanent circus somewhere as a safe haven for the supernatural community. So, now that their children were old enough to care for themselves, the couple decided to pursue their dream and create the fittingly named "Circus of Dreams." They chose to build it in Concordia, where Kilian and Notre were living and found the perfect location for the circus in Sinner's End. A few performers from Cirque de Nuit, such as Manolo, followed them to Concordia to help build the new circus.
After living in Concordia and building their new circus for a few months, Buttercup first appeared in the story when Deacon Abbott was murdered while the performers were preparing to practice their acts. She, like the rest of the circus members, hated Deacon Abbott, and she told Isaac and Maddie how relieved she was that he was dead and would no longer terrorize her performers.
Buttercup maintained her innocence even after it was discovered that the victim had tried to attack her. Thankfully, the only damage Deacon Abbott did was destroy her flower crown, but still, Buttercup was scared for her and her performers' safety. However, the circus would get a happy ending when the Deacon's killer was arrested, and the crew could now safely continue working on getting everything ready for the circus' grand opening.

Trivia
* She is named after the Buttercup flower, as all Dryads are named after things from nature
* Buttercup loves growing her performers' favourite flowers in their rooms to welcome them back for a show. These include moonflowers for Argo, black roses for Kilian, irises for Notre, orchids for Manolo, etc.
* Gwaine and her kids still work for Cirque de Nuit but have promised to visit their parents whenever the circus passes through Concordia
* Her descendant, Quinn, looks a lot like her. People have often told Quinn that she takes after her great-grandmother. Fili also inherited some of Buttercup's genetics, but they're not as physically prominent as they are in Quinn
