As Monday rolled around, Sohee walked to class as usual, but when she opened the door, she froze. There was a girl sitting in her seat, and from the way she was leaning in toward Sunwoo, it looked like she was trying to have a conversation with him.
Sohee paused for a moment at the door, her hand still resting on the handle. The girl sitting in her seat was chatting animatedly with Sunwoo, who appeared to be politely listening, though his gaze kept flickering back and forth between the girl and his desk. The conversation seemed friendly enough, but the way the girl was leaning in just a little too close made something in Sohee's chest tighten.
She stepped into the room, clearing her throat to announce her presence, and the girl turned around in surprise, her eyes widening when she saw Sohee standing in the doorway.
"Oh, sorry!" the girl quickly said, standing up from Sohee's seat. "I didn't realize this was yours."
Sunwoo, who had been quietly observing the interaction, finally looked up at Sohee. A small, almost apologetic smile crossed his face. "Hey, Sohee. This is Dabin, she's a new student. Dabin, this is Sohee."
Dabin smiled brightly, extending a hand. "Hi! Nice to meet you. I was just asking Sunwoo for some advice on the class."
Sohee nodded politely, though there was a slight unease gnawing at her. "Nice to meet you too," she replied, offering a small smile.
As Dabin returned to her seat, Sohee took her own place beside Sunwoo, her gaze lingering on him for a moment before she pulled out her materials. She tried to focus on the lesson, but a small knot of confusion kept tightening in her stomach.
Was it just her, or did Dabin seem... a little too interested in Sunwoo? The way she smiled at him, how comfortable she seemed leaning against his desk—it made Sohee feel oddly possessive, despite knowing it didn't make sense.
"Everything okay?" Sunwoo asked, his voice low as he glanced at her with a questioning look. He must have noticed her quiet demeanor, though he didn't press further.
"Yeah," Sohee replied, trying to shake the feeling off. "Just... wasn't expecting company in my seat."
Sunwoo chuckled softly, leaning back in his chair. "You know, I've got a lot of people asking me for advice lately. I'm kind of the go-to guy, apparently."
Sohee forced a smile, but there was a sharp edge to her voice as she said, "I can see that."
He gave her a knowing look, raising an eyebrow. "Jealous?"
Sohee blinked, caught off guard by the question. "What? No!" she blurted out, immediately regretting the way her words had sounded.
He smirked, obviously enjoying her flustered reaction. "It's okay, you don't have to hide it." He teased lightly. "I'm just helping out a new student, that's all."
