As they walked out of the restaurant, hand in hand, the cool night air surrounding them, Sohee couldn't help but smile at how normal everything felt. The laughter, the banter— it was like they were picking up right where they left off, and it felt good. Sunwoo, always the gentleman, jogged ahead and opened the car door for her with a playful grin.
"Chivalry, huh?" Sohee teased, raising an eyebrow.
"Always," Sunwoo replied with a wink, helping her into the car before quickly getting in on the driver's side.
As they settled into the car, Sunwoo couldn't hold back a laugh. "I bet Jisung will be happy you won't be working as much. I swear, I've been hearing him complain all day while I played Valorant with him."
Sohee's eyes widened. "You play Valorant with him?" she asked, her voice full of disbelief. "Since when?"
Sunwoo chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "Yeah, for a while now. It's kinda our thing. Though, I also play with this other guy... Chanler...? Chan... Chun-"
Sohee's face lit up as she tried to hold back a laugh. "Chenle?" she said, her voice breaking with amusement.
Sunwoo's face scrunched up in confusion. "Yeah, that sounds right. I can never get his name right, but he's fun to play with."
Sohee burst into laughter, her shoulders shaking as she looked at him, the sound of her joy filling the car. "Chenle, Sunwoo. It's Chenle, not 'Chanler.'"
"I swear, names are just not my thing," Sunwoo muttered, still laughing with her. "I'm lucky I can even remember your name."
"Don't worry, I think I'll let that one slide," Sohee teased, her smile softening. "You're lucky you're cute."
Sunwoo grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I know, right? It's what makes up for all my other flaws."
Sohee smirked as she settled into the seat, her hand brushing his again. "I don't know about that, but I'll admit you have your moments."
As the laughter faded, they both relaxed into the comfortable silence of the drive. The road was quiet, the night calm, and for the first time in what felt like ages, everything felt just right.
But just as Sunwoo was about to make the turn into her neighborhood, Sohee spoke up, her voice unexpectedly firm.
"Let's go to your house," she said, her tone not leaving much room for debate.
Sunwoo's hand faltered on the wheel for a moment as he glanced over at her, clearly caught off guard. "Is something wrong?" he asked, concern lacing his voice. He could tell something had shifted in her demeanor, though she didn't seem upset.
Sohee met his gaze, her expression serious but gentle. "I want to meet your parents," she said, and the words hung in the air, surprising both of them.
Sunwoo blinked, his heart skipping a beat. The request felt almost... too easy, as though Sohee had been holding onto the idea for a while. His stomach fluttered with something soft, a mix of excitement and nervousness.
