Back in the Philippines, JM sat on a shaded bench outside a small cafe, sipping on a cold drink while chatting with his friends, Binsoy and Jan. The school year was just around the corner, and he couldn't help but feel a bit restless waiting for Fyang to return.
"So, kailan daw balik ni Fyang?" Binsoy asked, stretching his legs as he leaned back.
JM shrugged, glancing down at his phone for the hundredth time that day. "Wala pa siyang sinabi na exact date, but it should be soon. Dami na siguro nilang pinuntahan doon."
"Ang saya nila dun, bruh!" Jan chimed in, chuckling. Siguradong sulit 'yun."
JM couldn't hide a small smile.
Binsoy gave him a teasing nudge.
JM rolled his eyes, though the slight grin on his face betrayed him.
The three of them shared a laugh, each one looking forward to the start of the school year, even if it meant watching JM try to play it cool around Fyang again.
