Guilty
"HEY Liv sino kasabay mo umuwi kagabi? Hindi ka na namin nakita at hindi mo pa kasama si Ken." Kriz cornered me the moment she spotted me at our office pantry.
"Did something happen? Did you meet someone else?" She leaned in closer to whisper, "Did you use protection?" God this girl and her imagination.
My eyes bulged at that. "Why would you immediately assume that?" I asked, horrified.
She held up her hands in defense. "I mean you did come with us to have fun and break out from your usual routine. And c'mon let us admit that that scenario isn't too farfetched." Look at her acting like she made a perfectly reasonable deduction.
Well she does have a point. I did plan to let loose a little.
"Well, whatever it is that you're concocting in your head didn't happen." I clarified.
Then I proceeded to tell her what happened that fateful night, pork steak and all.
Kriz audibly gasped and covered her agape mouth. "Whaaattt?" She exclaimed, quite annoyingly at that. "He actually barfed on you?!"
Oa ha.
I only sipped on my coffee and didn't give her much response.
"That was.. well... I am lost for words." She took a long sip from her chocolate drink trying to process everything I just said.
Then she suddenly turned to me. "Just, you know.. not all night outs turn into a horror scene. Don't let this event discourage you for being spontaneous every now and then. Hindi naman kasi lahat ng tao ibababad sayo ang laman loob nila."
Her unexpected concern touched my heart. This girl can be really over the top sometimes but she means well. I so love her.
"Don't worry, K. Hindi naman ako traumatized." I said while giving her arm a reassuring squeze.
"Great!" She said and bumalik na ang lokoloko demeanor ng babaita. "Now, let's get to the important part..." She leaned in closer to draw a suspenseful pause. "Gwapo ba si barf guy?" She asked while making suggestive faces.
"Seriously?" I asked bewildered.
In what part of my messy story did she form this thought? Dapat dugyot ang magiging tingin niya kay BG. I clearly underestimated this girl's loose screws.
"Don't 'seriously' me! I heard the story, now I need visuals." She insisted while wiggling her eyebrows.
But looking back to our encounter and if I were to be objective... gwapo naman talaga si kuya.
But hindi ko to aaminin kay Kriz. She will surely run wild with this info.
"Ok lang." I said with the attempt to brush things off.
"Okay?!" Kriz suddenly squealed out of nowhere.
Dinamba pa ako.
"Gwapo siya te!" The girl is now frantic. "Omy! I have to know more about him so I can mentally picture you two as a couple."
"What? No mental pictures please. Calm down woman." Nasaan ba si Dame kung kailangan mo siya?
"Actually, I am having a bit of a dilemma." I started.
From that, I know her focus would lock the moment she senses drama. Marites nga naman.
"Okay, so apparently I brought home more than just his jacket." I opened up.
Kriz let out an audible gasp again. "Girl magsabi ka lang kung nangangailangan ka. Willing naman akong magpautang with 50% interest compounded monthly."
