Chapter 2: Five Feet Deep

Another week has passed and another Friday has hit the calendar. Y/n continued tutoring the quintuplets albeit with differing attendance. On Monday, Yujin, Rei, and Jiwon were absent. On Tuesday, Wonyoung and Rei were absent. On Wednesday, Wonyoung, Yujin, and Gaeul were absent. And on Thursday, Wonyoung and Jiwon were absent. Admittedly, he hates the fact that he can't even get past 60% attendance. As he was dozing off, hoping he'll have a complete set of students later, a hand went through his vision.

"Earth to Oppa! It's time to eat!" Hyunseo shouted as the boy looked at her little sister. Not realizing he's been sitting on his bed and not moving for 30 minutes already.

The boy stood up, not saying a word, he left his room and went to their dining table where the matriarch of the house was already preparing the food. Hyunseo soon followed and also sat down as the family started eating breakfast.

"Hey, Y/n. Can you end your tutor session with the girls earlier than usual?" Taeyeon said as Y/n looked at his mom.

"Why? Is something up?" Y/n asked as Taeyeon nodded.

"Yeah, there's this party I'm gonna go take pictures for. A friend of mine needs extra men for the catering, so I suggested you. It's extra money and I already talked to the dad of the girls. No need to secretly walk out. You'd still get paid full today so, more money for us!" Taeyeon said as Y/n sighed in defeat.

"Alright, sure. I guess it's better than tutoring those girls. I swear, they're just insufferable. Did you know there's not a day where all of them are present? Mom, I swear... They're gonna fail at this rate." Y/n groaned as his mother chuckled.

"Well, you gotta be friends with them first before you can do anything, no? Try to ease up, Y/n. Submit to some of their demands, sure, but also know that you're not just there to listen to them. You're a teacher, they're students. Both learn from each other in good conversation." Taeyeon said, giving advice to her son. Something, he smiled at, thinking his mom did make a bit of sense.

"Huh, you sure do have a way with your words, mom. Anyways, are you sure Hyunseo is okay here alone until the event is over?" Y/n said as Hyunseo glared at him.

"Hey! I'll have you know that nothing bad happens when I'm here all by myself! Zero can vouch for that." Hyunseo said as the house dog barked and wagged his tail.

"Oh, yeah? Remember when you blamed Zero for the vase you broke?" Y/n asked as he smugly smirked.

"Hey! It was an accident. I didn't-" Hyunseo said as she interrupted herself and looked at her mother.

Taeyeon smiled, "So you were the one that broke it?" An obvious facade to the fuming Taeyeon.

"Oppa, help me..." Hyunseo begged as Y/n looked at Taeyeon, intimidated by his mother's stare.

"I'm gonna be late to class now... I better get ready." Y/n said, throwing Hyunseo under the bus as he prepared to take a bath as he heard the harsh words by Taeyeon scolding Hyunseo.

~After classes, Kim residence~

"Alright, can you call your sisters, Rei?" Y/n requested as Rei started calling her sisters one by one. After a few minutes, Y/n couldn't believe the sight. There were more than 3 sisters present today.

Rei, check. Gaeul, check. Jiwon, check. Now these three are for Y/n the more likely ones to be around yet to his surprise, Yujin was also present. That means, today has an 80% attendance since only Wonyoung was absent.

"So, do any of you guys know where Wonyoung is?" Y/n asked as he passed the study material to the four that were around.

"She said she has something to attend to." Yujin said as Y/n shook his head and conceded in defeat.
