I was back at the base camp. I put down my gun, my body aching from exhaustion. I was tired, angry, and frustrated. I had failed to bring in the Jedi. I grunted loudly, venting my frustrations. Just then, I heard Elrik shouting my name.

"Captain (Y/N)! Captain (Y/N)!"

I stepped out of my tent, my eyes narrowing at the commotion. A swarm of troopers was rushing past. Elrik came sprinting toward me, excitement etched on his face.

"We found the Jedi's ship!" he shouted before turning and running to his TIE Fighter.

I looked up at the sky, and there it was—the Jedi's ship, darting through the clouds, weaving in and out of the line of fire. Blasts of light shot through the air as it exchanged fire with the TIE Fighters in pursuit.

The Jedi was making his escape, and he wasn't going down without a fight.

"Elrik!!!" I screamed, my voice hoarse.

I watched as he climbed into his TIE Fighter, the engines roaring to life. My heart pounded in my chest, torn between conflicting emotions. The Jedi had shown me a glimpse of the future, a future that would spell doom for countless innocent lives.

But here I was, watching my comrades chasing him, ready to bring him down.

Elrik's TIE Fighter took off, joining the chase, and I clenched my fists, my thoughts spinning. Could I let them do this? Could I watch them capture him, knowing what would follow?

Suddenly, a flash of light erupted in the sky, and my heart sank. The Jedi's ship had fired, and I watched in horror as Elrik's TIE Fighter was struck. The explosion was bright, blinding, and for a moment, everything seemed to move in slow motion.

"No!" I screamed, my voice breaking. I watched as the remains of Elrik's TIE Fighter spiraled downward, disappearing from sight. My breath caught in my throat, my chest tightening painfully. Elrik was gone.

The Jedi's ship took advantage of the confusion, maneuvering skillfully and disappearing into the clouds.

He was gone, and he had escaped—but at a terrible cost. I stood there, trembling, unable to tear my eyes away from the sky where Elrik had vanished. The weight of my failure pressed down on me, heavier than ever.

I grabbed my communicator, my hands shaking. There was nothing I could do now but bear the consequences of my choices. I had let the Jedi go once, and now Elrik was gone. Everything felt wrong, twisted, and I was left wondering if I had made the right decision at all.
