"Mia Shane, the movie star has died at the age of-"
That's all I've heard every day. Every. Single. Damn. Day. I wish that shit wasn't true. I quickly turned off the TV and buried my head under the covers. I was in some sort of depression within myself. I stayed in my room for the past couple of days. I didn't want anyone to even talk to me or want anybody to see me like this.
It was obvious that Nick killed her. I know he did and nobody can tell me he didn't. I knew Nick, I knew Nicks behavior towards Mia. She wasn't happy with Nick at all or within the marriage. The countless appointments she had with therapists and thinking something was wrong with her when there wasn't. It was Nick. It was Nicholas damn Chavez who broke her mentally, physically and emotionally. She'd have random breakdowns while on set. And to take the icing off the cake he'd send threatening messages to her while she was staying at my condo. I knew that would end his career right then and there.
"Hey Gen," I heard my boyfriend, Leo say. "Are you ok?"
I didn't even notice that he'd came in the room.
I stood silence and sighed a heavy sigh.
"I know Nick did it," I said.
"How can you be so sure?" He asked me.
"Because I know he did Leo," I said sitting up in my bed. "He killed Mia, my best friend. My sister, my ride or die, my everything."
"Genesis it's grief and you're trying to look for a blame," Leo says sounding worried.
"Nick did it Leo," I protested. "He killed my best friend.
Leo sighed and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Look just be calm," Leo says in a soothing voice.
"No I will not be calm Leo," I raised my voice while getting up. "Imma go the police station."
I went to go take a shower first and go put on some clothes and headed to the police station.

"I'd like to say something about the Mia Shane case," I said to the clerk.
She didn't even take one second to look at me.
"Hasn't everyone?" She says sarcastically.
"Let me say it in better words," I say matching her tone. "I'd like to testify about Mia Shane and appoint me to a detective."
"Well lady-"
"Ms. Simmons," a detective quickly says while walking quickly over to us. "I'm Detective Smith how can I help you?"
"I want to testify against the Mia Shane case. Or be some sort of witness to it," I said.
"Please follow me," says detective Smith.
He led me to a long hallway and into a dark room.
"Have a seat," he says.
I took a seat at the table while he chose to stand.
"Now tell me what happened," he says. "No bullshit I've had enough of it today."
He clicks on a tape recorder, and starts recording.
"My name is Genesis Simmons," I say. "I was Mia's friend. Well best friend."
"Great," he says. "I recognize you from somewhere I know who you are."
"I witnessed alot of on hand abuse that Mia took in from Nicholas. He was abusive towards her, broke her mentally, emotionally and physically. She hated her marriage with him. He would cuss out his own parents for Gods sake. He was just...a demon that's been possessed."
"Mhm hm, I see domestic violence played a huge role in their relationship. How often was this?" He asked me.
"Quite often. Mia would call me crying everyday saying she's done with Nick and say she's going to divorce him. She hated Nick as a person but loved him at the same time."
"Were there times that she could...have freedom or be free?"
"Sometimes. She could only hang around me because Nick called me an 'acceptable slut to be around.' He'd belittle her, degrade her in every way possible. He'd control everything that Mia did from her financial situations and movie roles and to what she wore."
"Was Nick always like this?"
"Yes of course," I said. "His own parents warned me and her about Nicks behavior. When they were in the process of divorce, Mia was staying in my condo. That's where Nick would send threatening messages to her everyday. I have two tapes in my bag that I recorded."
I pulled out two tapes that I had of Nick's recording.
"Do you have more?" He asked me.
"Yes they're at my apartment," I said.
"Well show me to this apartment that she stayed at," Detective Smith says while getting up.

When we arrived to my condo, it was firefighters everywhere and people running around. I got out the car in a panic.
"What happened?!" I asked one of the firefighters.
"An apparent fire happened ma'am," he says.
The condo was burnt down and was a complete mess like nothing was there. I was in shock and disbelief. All my evidence that I could've used against Nick was gone.
"The condo didn't stand a chance," the firefighter says. "It was in a lot of violations by the way. Nobody was hurt."
"I want a search warrant on this building," the detective said out loud. "You men do not touch a single thing unless you have gloves on. If you find a tape recording, keep it in a bag."
"Do you think foul play was involved?" The firefighter asked the detective.
The detective stood there like he was thinking about something.
"Yes," he finally says. "I think arson was involved. It was either someone was trying to get rid of evidence or was hiding something."
"The apartment didn't have any gas leaks or hazardous things that made it catch on fire," the firefighter says. "It just had this printed peace of paper and a bottle."
"What did the paper say?" I asked hesitantly.
The firefighter pulled the paper out of a bottle.
"You will pay Genesis. So keep your mouth shut," the firefighter read.
I knew it was Nick. I just knew it because only he would send shit like that.
"If you get to a phone call Nicholas Chavez," the detective orders. "Tell him to come to the police station immediately or I'll have a search warrant at his house to arrest him."
