Dracos POV:

It was finally summer. When I got home, I went straight to my room, where I found Dobby dusting my shelves.

"Dobby, out."

Dobby looked at me and immediately ran out, scared I would hurt him. I hated how much my father beat Dobby. He was the only thing in this hell hole that actually cared for me

"Draco!" I heard from outside my door.

I open the door and see my dad and mum waiting.

"Yes?"

"Watch how you talk -" my dad started yelling, getting closer as I backed up cautiously. My mum cut him off by putting her hand on his arm.

"Draco, darling. How was school?"

"It was fine.."

"We should tell him, Narcissa." My father whispered quietly to my mum, and she smacked his arm before pushing him away.

"He's still a child! No!"

"Tell me what?" I said coldly, glaring at my father.

"Nothing, Draco. Get Dobby to unpack for you. Let's have dinner, and you can fill me in on Hogwarts."

I nod softly and wait for my parents to leave. Dobby was standing where my parents once were, and I sighed.

"Go on. Unpack."

Dobby quickly started to unpack my clothes for me while I sat on the edge of my bed.

"That perfect Potter ruins everything. It was my time to make my parents proud. But I have nothing to show for it. He's the boy who lived, I bet I could survive the killing curse." I mumble to myself before turning to Dobby, scaring him slightly. "Dobby, you think so?"

"Of course, master Draco. You could survive anything."

I smirked and looked away from him. "Yeah, I could."

I took up and walked out of my room, going downstairs and finding food laid out on the table. Such a long table for only three people. I've always wondered what it was so long for.

"Father. Mum." I said as I sat down.

My mum walked over to me and smiled as she handed me a plate. She sat down next to me and my father down across from us. We ate in silence until my mum broke it by asking questions.

"So, how was it, dear?"

"Well, it could have been better. Dumbledore took a liking to that kid Potter -"

"He's at school? Harry Potter?"

"Yes..? Anyway, perfect Potter never got too bad of a punishment. It was so annoying! And then his friend, that mudblood, Granger -"

"Potter, go back on that. How is he? The boy?"

"He's fine? Skinny and short, but that's about it? Anyway, Granger, she is a know it all loser. She always answers everything. She tries too hard because her parents are muggles. It's annoying and embarrassing. Their other friend, the Weasley boy, Ron. He is just like the others, what can I say? Nothing changes about that family."

"Potter, are the rumors true about the scar?"

"Just shut up! Enough about this stupid Potter! This was about me!" I pushed my chair out and glared at my father as I got up. "I'm going to my room!"

I turn away and walk back to my room. I could hear my father and mum talking. It annoyed me so much that my father took a liking at Potter, too. It's always him.

When I got to my room, Dobby was putting the last bit of my stuff away. I plopped on the bed, face first, and screamed.

Dobby looked at me worried, but when I looked at him, he looked away.

"Dobby was just wondering with master Draco was okay..?"

"I'm fine, Dobby...it's my father. Of course it's my father! It's horrible! He's horrible."

Dobby looked sad and then looked away. "Does master Draco want to talk about it?"

I looked at the ceiling as I turned on my back. "Something about that Potter boy. I don't know... he was almost put into Slytherin. Almost, but he was sorted into Gryffindor. I tried to be his friend Dobby, but he rejected me."

Dobby stood awkwardly as I talked. "And father just kept asking about him. Wouldn't stop. It was annoying." I stop and scream into one of my pillows. "But you know what's worse!? I can't get him out of my head." I cried.

"Oh no! Master Draco! Don't cry! Dobby doesn't know how to help!"

"It's okay, Dobby. I'm fine." Dobby panicked still, so I wiped my eyes and sat up with a small frown. "I just was close to them. I wish I could be friends with them...it sucks. I want to help him, I want them to like me...I'd even get that Weasley kid new robes if he asked!"

"Maybe...Dobby can suggest something?"

I look over at Dobby and nod. "Sure."

"Maybe, master Draco could give Harry Potter a gift?"

"Like what? He probably has everything he wants...although he could probably use a new broom. Didn't the new Nimbus 2001 come out? He might need a new broom for Quidditch."

"There you go! Dobby thinks -" Dobby was cut off by my father walking in.

Dobby tried to hide, but my father immediately kicked him towards the door.

"Get out, Dobby! Go find something to clean your filthy elf."

"Father -"

"I'm not talking to you! Shut your mouth!"

I immediately looked down as I heard him kick Dobby and Dobby, making different noises in pain.

I sighed and turned away. I'll ask my father about the broom later. I'll just tell him it's for me. He won't buy anything for Potter.

Hopefully, Dobby is okay, though. I wish my father was nicer to him.
