THE SECOND DAY OF THE YEAR.

to say the princess was tired would be an understatement. her limbs ached as she laid sprawled on her plush sheets, never having slipped under them. her knees and wrists scattered with various bruises of which she had no recollection of acquiring.

she awoke briefly when the sun reached the horizon, the streams of light peering through her drapes. a soft blue hue filled the room, disturbing her rest.

she groaned at the realization that her dress from the evening prior was still on, slipping on a silk gown from lys as a simple shift. she spent a few minutes taming her unruly hair, braiding two pieces before using them to pull half her hair up loosely. it wasn't much, but it'd do for the time being.

after being interrupted  by harsh knocking, one of her mother's ladies in waiting peeked into her chambers due to the king's request; aemma thought she was dead meat.

her thoughts spiraled in panic and preparation to plead her innocence, as she always overthought in every possible scenario.

surely no one had seen them?
right?

but she was a bit drunk, now that she thought to the night before. she couldn't quite recall how she got back to her chambers.

she held her breath for a moment before deciding to face the reckoning, her steps to the throne room were rushed. her fingers nervously twirled with the jeweled pieces on her hands as she found herself silently standing alongside her brother, jacaerys.

across the castle, aegon was having a similar reaction to the requested attendance. though with a glass of wine he found the idea to be less daunting.

slowly the throne room filled with the crown's descendants, many half awake or still dressed in their undergarments best suited for sleeping. confused looks were shared across the room, mixtures of lavender, violet and dark brown hues
meeting one another. trying to piece together if one another knew anything of the summoning.

both sides of the family respectively stood to either side of the throne, the only person unaccounted for amongst the castle walls was daemon; to be expected of him.

the king was not present, the throne empty as they all stood expecting his appearance. a summoning by the king without the king sounded foolish.

slowly, rhaenyra stepped towards the front of the room with a loosely formed half smile.

"there is no mater of concern on why we're gathered, i apologize for the early hour. i wanted to make sure all my children were together at once, it makes things much easier."
